The argument that he is still at official age of 24+ and this age is in his side doesn't bear any weight unless it is backed by stat that indeed shows that he is gradually improving in last few years. Actually if you see his progression durin his last six years, you would see its pretty steady or rather going down recently.

If this is the trend, then we may already seen his best and if we continue with him without any drastic change or message to him, most likely he would end up with playing 100 TEST match with a career average of 16 or so. In the process he may end up scoring 2 more centuries, but for the rest of the remaining 49 games he would continue to score mainly single digit runs.

If thats what you want, then I would say you are significantly compromising BD teams's best interest. For the next 51 TEST, if we give chance to some of the younger players, it would be a better long term investment and better result in should term.
