I don't think it's a good idea. There are better ways to strengthen our economy if only the gov't would take necessary steps.

First of all, taxation is one of the principle means by which government funds its expenditure. How many people in Bangladesh truly pay their taxes? The gov't should be more concerned about recovering public debts and enforcing tax collection. On top of that, tax should be doubled on imported products because of how rapidly Bangladeshi market is being dominated by our neighbours.

The gov't should also take necessary steps to discourage large amounts of Bangladeshi currency being sent abroad, while remittance should be facilitated more because of the important role it plays to sustain our economy.

Finally the gov't should spend more on training professionals in demanding fields such as IT, architecture, engineering, health, etc, and pay them fair wages to stay in the country and work for our own development. Bangladesh is far too dependant on foreign companies to work for us and millions of dollars is being wasted in the process. Take for example the exploration & extraction of natural resources, large construction projects, or even our poor health system causing people to go abroad for treatment.. these are only few to mention where Bangladesh is failing.

Unless we can improve the system this 1 taka lottery scheme will not make any difference.
