What I find disturbing is that I have been seeing this phenomenon currently even among Bengali medium students.
In English medium students, this is a trait that I can understand, but not forgive (especially since I was an English medium student myself, and the Bangla syllabus taught in our school then was the same as that of SSC), but to see it happening in Bengali medium pupils is disturbing indeed.
Tangential remark: is it just me being overly sensitive, or do some of you feel that the pronunciation of Bangla vowels and consonants in some recent adhunik and pop songs is becoming corrupted (e.g. vowel sounds becoming shorter as in Hindi or English, "
ফ" being pronounced like the English "F", etc.?
