Some additions to my list I forgot to include last time:
Sita Sings the Blues(USA): Amazing independent movie by Nina Paley, interspersing an adaptation of the Ramayan that is particularly sympathetic towards Sita, with a contemporary parallel from Nina's own life, backed up by the beautiful jazz vocals of Annette Hanshaw from the 1920s. Licensed under Creative Commons, and available for free download. For adults, simply because I don't think most kids would appreciate it.
Les Triplettes de Belleville (The Triplets of Belleville)(France, Belgium, Canada): Indescribable masterpiece about an old lady, her melancholy grandson who grow up to become a champion cyclist, and the Belleville triplets, music hall singers from the 1930s. What's Opera, Doc?Warner Bros.(USA): Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd, in perhaps the best short (running time 6 minutes 49 seconds) animated movie ever made, parodying Wagner's operas and overwrought music (which, mind you, I am partial to), their competitor Disney's Fantasia, and contemporary ballet.
