There is no excuse at all for 20-5 and I am not making excuses here, England have batted not very well.
But, I am watching the telecast and the pitch is appalling. Vaughan and Flintoff have got out to balls that have shot along the floor, and it isn't even the end of day 1. It is up and down. A very poor wicket. One minute the ball is hitting the batsman on the head, the next it is bowling a batsman under the bat of the same length.
The Lords groundsman shoud hang his head in shame. A true shocker.
