Do you know something? Before we got test status, general people of Bangladesh - who are not mad cricket watchers (like me) - and not cricket players (either national/'A' team/club level/age group/simply street cricket players) did not understand or even heard about the common terms such as: 'following on', 'first innings lead', '5-day cricket', 'defeat or winning by an innings' etc. - now they do.

One big reason because of this is that people of middle-income level did not/ do not have access to cable tv, or basically, people grew up just hearing the radio commentary all around Bangladesh.

But now, courtesy of Bangladesh's test status and more recently, because of BTV's somewhat reluctant interest in Bangladesh's games have made it possible for those general people to learn these terms.

The only thing that they knew was (and still is) 'WORLD CUP' - and rules and regulations of One Day cricket.

So, thinking in that way, I would say that this is a huge improvement - a great marketing for Test cricket.
