I would have agreed with you a few months ago, when we had guys like Nafees, Jahirul, Junaed and Ashraful competing for top/middle order positions.
Now that we have Anamul to possibly pair up with Tamim (it's about time he gets a Test cap), Naeem in the mix, a good looking middle order and Mominul among the reserves, we seem to have greater stability at least on the flat tracks of Bangladesh. I expect us to be 0/1 or 0/2 or 0/3 less often (it will still happen, because these idiots still don't completely know how to hold a bat) and as a result, the difference between #3 and #4 widens. They are two fundamentally different positions and require different skill sets and, if I may go as far, personalities. I personally expect a #3 to be able to play the role of makeshift opener, but I don't expect that from a #4.
