KCA XI score third win over Bangladesh 'A'
By PETER NJENGA
Captain Steve Tikolo hit unmatched 168 runs to lead Kenya Cricket Association XI to a deserved 12-run victory over Bangladesh 'A' at Ruaraka Sports Club yesterday.

His individual contribution and another 55 from Thomas Odoyo raised Kenya's tally to 303 for six in 50 overs.

Bangladesh replied with 291 for nine in their 50 overs during this match held under overcast conditions.

Kenya won the toss and elected to bat with openers Ravindu Shah and Kennedy Otieno Obuya scoring 16 and 17 runs respectively before being dismissed by T. Baishya who also sent Tikolo and Maurice Odumbe (23) packing.

In reply, Rafiqul Islam hit the second century of the day with a tally of 112 runs followed by Javaid Omar (90).

Islam re-discovered his form after a poor showing of 18 during Saturday's match between both teams at the same venue.

In comparison, Obuya had an indifferent outing compared to Saturday's when he recorded an unbeaten 58 (which included eight boundaries) in his unbroken second wicket partnership of 78 with Hitesh Modi.

The morale boosting victory was a follow up of Saturday's huge nine-wicket victory Kenya recorded in this series, a build-up for the high profile triangular between the "Tusker Boys", world champions Australia and Pakistan which starts on Thursday at the Nairobi Gymkhana.
