It's easy to bypass issues by calling it a naturally gifted thing. But I'm sure, they have some system to do that, environment to encourage that or incentives for doing that so it's the result of something that can be done. A skill set can't be so much naturally gifted and genetically passed down, skill is something that needs to be acquired, well, some people might have advantage in learning something faster. Otherwise, Gavaskar's son should have become naturally another Gavaskar and Imrans son another Imran...when you give so much to natural gift, that has to be more genetic as well....
Dead pitches encouraged them to master the art of generating more pace, control, accuracy, movement through air etc....pitch comes into effect only after the ball pitches.
