its time we start choosing players based on merit and performance rather than potential and rapport with the coach/selectors. Hopefully guys like Souyma,Taskin,Sabbir are outsed in the near future, unless they start to perform, heck a bit of consistancy would be nice once in a while.
Are you talking about Imrul's ODI performance? Let's draw a comparison:

...............Kayes (Age: 30).......|.......SS (Age: 24)..........
.............Inns....Avg.......S/R....|...Inns.....Avg.......S/R
Career.....70.....28.95....67.93...|....31.....34. 53.....96.60
2017........5......25.00....77.16...|....11.....24 .30.....89.01
vs SL........3......22.66....68.00...|....3......24.3 3....101.38
vs ZIM......12.....26.00....64.59...|....1......20.00 ....111.11
at Dhaka...30....34.03.....69.88...|...12.....45.80.. ..102.46

Merit-wise SS beats him any day. Performance-wise pretty similar, but at least SS doesn't waste balls even he is out early.

I don't deny that SS perhaps needs a break, only replacement I can think of is Anamul Haque Bijoy (based on his recent domestic performance). I don't like to see SS, such a supreme talent for LOI, go in waste. Personally, I would give him a last shot before laying him off to a long break, considering we're playing in home condition against 2 lower-tanked teams in a double RR league tournament.
