I have been married a long time (nearly half my life) and if I magically went back to my earlier, unmarried days, I would make the same choice. IMHO, marriage is bliss, if both partners are willing to put in the work and give-and-take. A question ask yourself, if you wake up before your wife, do you a) wake her up to make you tea, b) make tea for both and wake her up, c) just quietly look at her until she is up and then make tea. Whether she works or not, do you help her with housework?

There are many great lectures on marriage from the Islamic perspective. It may be beneficial for a couple to watch them together. I feel the absolute key in a happy marriage is given in Nouman Ali Khan's lecture, "each spouse should pay attention to his/her obligations, not rights."This is only a partial list. There are many more from good scholars. I hope and pray that marriage works out for you.
