I think when the Aussie team won the Ashes a while ago the team put a "Shrek" doll in remembrance of "Boof" as he wasn't with the team then. It goes to show how much respect he gets from everyone. Even though he wasn't with the team they still didn't forget about him.
yeah aside from his cricket he was a top bloke, down to earth, humble, but hard working and respected. he's been there, done that so players can respect him for that, and it means he respects the players knowing what they're going through as he's done it himself. but watching him bat was glorious!
