Default Major outcomes from the 7th meeting of the BCB ad-hoc executive committee (don't worry, nothing about Ashraful #dhamachapa)

DHAKA, Monday 29 July 2013
Media Release
Major outcomes from 7th Meeting of the BCB Ad hoc Executive Committee
  • The Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League 2012-13 Player Recruitment Programme will be held on 25 August 2013. The League will commence on 03 September 2013. BCB Media Committee Chairman Mohammed Jalal Yunus said the latest dates have been fixed following assurance from the clubs: “The Premier League clubs have expressed their willingness to participate in the league in the given slot even if the national cricketers are not available. We are therefore very hopeful of starting the competition on time.”

  • The Board will send official letter to the clubs and divisional/district sports associations and other services and organisations to nominate their respective councilors for the BCB election after the Eid-ul Fitr break. In the meantime to expedite the process BCB will send a formal request to the National Sports Council (NSC) for initiating the formation of an election commission.

  • The Board as guarantor of all player payment has decided to start clearing the current dues of Bangladeshi and overseas cricketers who had participated in the second edition of the Bangladesh Premier League T20 before Eid-ul Fitr.

  • The domestic calendar 2013-14 will be announced shortly after incorporating the recommended suggestions from the Board. The season will begin with the 2012-13 Dhaka Premier League and is expected to be followed by the National Cricket League (NCL), Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), the 3rd edition of BPL T20 and the Dhaka Premier League 2013-14.

  • The Board decided not to consider an appeal for clemency from umpire Nadir Shah who is serving a 10-year ban for corrupt conduct.

  • The Board has decided extend support to the Bagh-USAID’s Bengal Tiger Conservation Activity. The activity objective is to conserve Bangladesh’s rich biodiversity through a focus on the conservation of the Royal Bengal Tiger and the Sundarbans mangrove forest ecosystem.
