Manchester United sealed the biggest shirt sponsorship deal in English footballyesterday when it signed a four-year contract for £56.5m with American International Group, the US insurance company.
The deal, worth more than £14m a year, eclipses Chelsea's £11m-a-year shirt contract with Samsung, the telecommunications to electronics conglomerate, and is also believed to be larger than Arsenal's new shirt deal with Emirates, the airline.
