**** The Mohammed Ashraful Thread ****
Tired of looking @ the 1st Page of the forum and seeing 50 threads on Ash Saying Same thing, people upping threads from 5 years ago etc. It is clear to me everything Ash does good or bad has to have it's own Thread. I Can guarantee if he scores a Century in the next Test somebody will open a "Thank You Ash Thread" or a "I told you so Thread" or if he throws his wicket away We need a new Captain Thread etc.
We are some how infatuated with what he does, it's been like this for 5 years and counting and I'm sure he'll do this to us for the next 10 years as well.
So post everything you want about Ash for everything he does from Domestic/Rainhill/IPL/Bangladesh that makes you love/hate/pull your hair/drop him/next Tendulkar/next Kapali thread.
Plus it's a better way of Keeping Track of what he does as he is our most Important player for Bangladesh's success. So if you want to Ask the Really Hard Question about his Irresponsible/responsible/Breathtaking/Stupid/Great innings do it here. Hopefully this Thread exists in another 10 years so we can if has grown to the player that some of us thought he can be or just a player who couldn't Justify his talents.
If mods feel this is unnecessary ya can just delete it ... it's just an eye sore to see Ash this/that etc. Plus I've seen other forums do this as well.
...

lol...nice thread idea Cricman.
this is why I suggested that every player should have their own thread...and all discussion about that player should go in that ONE thread. it's easier to keep track of discussions that way..tou don't have to jump thread to thread to talk about the same player.

Guys some of u may not agree with me but there is a serious problem here in our batting line up for test cricket. As Atahar Ali khan was discuusing with Arun lal that of our 53 test matces we only achived 13 test hundred total among them 4 test 100 came from Ashraful's bat. we all know what kind of talent he has.......... now he is the man in charge. i understand there is a lot of pressure as a captain, when u see your team is falling a part and u r comming to bat 4/5 and there is not enough run on the board u like to go for some risky shot and gets out. when u get out....... we have to say it is all over.
move him up as an opener he can play a responsible innig with out any worry and we will have run on the board.

I totally agree with this comment. I think we need to arrange the batting lineup accordingly. But then again, there is so many players in our squad right now fighting for the spots. Before Tamim broke into the scene, there was Javed Omar and Shahriar Nafees as openers. Now we have two new openers, where is Shahriar Nafees suppose to fit at #3, i have yet to see him perform well in that position. As for Habibul Bashar's spot, i think the second test should be his last attempt to make any impact, if not then we should definetly bring in Rajin Saleh. Though his strike rate isnt admirable, he can hold the crease for a long time.
I think we still have not found a decent combination since fatullah 2006.

Ashraful is not an opener. He's not comfortable there and it's plain to see. We should leave the opening to the openers. We got plenty openers waiting as well. Middle order needs help...and Ashraful can provide some sort of stronghold there.

Ashraful is scoring in the 30s more consistantly than ever. Basically he takes the bowlers by storm, but its the storm that leads to his demise.

Now if our other top 7 Batsmen, could get to 30 consistently than we'd get more respectable test looking innings going over the 250 barrier easily. I know getting to 30 means you've only done 30% of your Job, Top order Batsmen should always look to score 100's but it would put a lot less burden on him if he batted @ 130/3 rather and 60/3.
And yes we do run 7 batsmen deep, Tamim (0), Juniad, Bashar (0), SN, Ash, Aftab, Sakib and Mushi (0) actually thats 8. Last Test we got good contributions from Ash, Aftab, Juniad and Sakib (His last innings doesn't IMO) ... some what SN too. Tamim hasn't had Match practice and selectors and Coach throw him up against a bowling attack like South Africa.
(0) contributed crap in term if partnership in this last Test
Plus the odds say the more you get to 30 a few will crack 50 and than some may even get that 100. Plus if you get 30 odds are your going to make good partnerships of 50-60-100 as well.
I think Ash will be on his toes this next innings I predict a Big one from him, plus he'e been grinding when it come to playing Test cricket lately you guys see one innings where he put away about 5 Bad Balls his SR goes over 100 and he's not playing Test Cricket, what type of stupid logic is that?

Look at his last year's performance in Test. Also look at his strike rates.
He made 1 century and 1 fifty from 9 innings. Averaged 36.25 which is 11 more than his current career average. Still people questiong his Test playing abilities.
Career averages | Mat | Inns | NO | Runs | HS | Ave | 100 | 50 | 0 | |
|---|
| unfiltered | 41 | 80 | 4 | 1918 | 158* | 25.23 | 4 | 7 | 12 | Profile | | filtered | 5 | 9 | 1 | 290 | 129* | 36.25 | 1 | 1 | 2 | |
So far in this year he's not doing that bad. His zeros are not helping him
We still have around 4/5 Tests left in this year. I'm sure he will make average around 40 this year inshallah.
Career averages | Mat | Inns | NO | Runs | HS | Ave | 100 | 50 | 0 | |
|---|
| unfiltered | 41 | 80 | 4 | 1918 | 158* | 25.23 | 4 | 7 | 12 | Profile | | filtered | 3 | 6 | 0 | 117 | 35 | 19.50 | 0 | 0 | 1 | |
Hope he can make a century in the next match and make his critics happy.

Its now 10:43am; Ashraful woke up from bed thinking if it was late enough or should he sleep little longer. Oh well, lets sleep to 12 today, there is no game so আর একটু ঝিমাইয়া লই.
