Default Bangladesh Versus Pakistan series in April 2012

Why couldn't we wait till a calmer situation where no bombs are exploding at least for two consecutive years? I understand the new PCB chief wants to show off his credentials by bringing international cricket back but I simply hate the fact that it has to happen at our expense.

I hate our cricket board for this

The Bangladesh board will send a security team to Pakistan to assess whether it is all right for their team to tour there. The ICC has told ESPNcricinfo it will send its own team to assess the security situation in Pakistan before sending its match officials there for the proposed series. After the Bangladesh series, Pakistan are scheduled to play a home series against Australia in August-September 2012, and then one against South Africa in October 2013.

Wouldn't it be funny if our chamchas come home and say the security is fine, but ICC team find it otherwise? LOL.

Or ICC security team caught BD's taking bribe from the Paks?

BCB will wait for ICC's verdict then will decide IMHO.

And, regarding the "bribe" - don't we already know that? Mr. Kamal as ICC boss...

Politics make strange bedfellows. An AL leader is working with Pakistan to make this tour a reality!!!

I am very uncomfortable about this tour. Having said that, I am pretty sure that PAK will provide security that would be normally for a US President visit. If there is any incident whatsoever, PAK can say goodbye to international cricket for years and Loitta will be finished.

Well, there is a relative calm on Taliban front due to two reasons; one is 'on going negotiation with US for power sharing to end insurgency' the other is 'winter'. Taliban activities always drop in winter. But the biggest threat is ISI/Pak Army, than Taliban. They are just waiting to create some chaos convince people that they are needed/politicians are failing. And what could be a softer target than BD and can have the same emotional effect nationwide. Don't get confused, bd players getting injured isn't the emotion, but cricket getting a blow in Pak is the emotion which can turn the fortune of Pak army at this moment....while Taliban itself may not sit idle, most of Pak venues aren't affected by severe winter to deter Taliban from an attack...

So, I feel it's better to avoid going to Pak. If at all we go, we must go with our own security... And that's not police; either RAB/Army. That should be our condition and be sure, Pcb will swallow any condition smoothly, to take cricket there. At least players will feel safer with our own security...

Can we organise a friendly cricket match between BD Politicians and PAK politicians in pakistan? It'll give some indiacation how safe it is to play cricket in pakistan.

Serious note: My ideas about friendly cricket match between politicians of both countries are:
1. Politicians will try to save their lives at any cost
2. PAK politicians know exactly what the condition there is and how to take appropriate security for their own sake.
3. BD Politicians will do appropriate homework before going there
4. If the friendly match goes through without any trouble, then I’d demand the same security for real cricketers.
5. If some of the politicians get injured in the match or outside the ground, we will know it’s impossible to assure security at that part of the world.
