(Why Australia ought to have made it to the Champions Trophy semis)

My question is: if DLS says the game has to be completed 20 overs by both sides, then how logical this claim is (and they are the one who has written this rule!)?

A "Trump" effect!!??

Is the DRS, Decision Review System?

Or the DLS, Duckworth Lewis Stern?

I think most of us will admit that Australia had us on the ropes and the rain really did save us. But cricket is a funny thing. Who knows, we might have bowled them out within the 20 overs.

Australia has had plenty of rain-affected games go there way in the past. And we've been screwed by rain before. It all evens out in the long run. Would Duckworth and his bf Lewis write this article if it was the other way around? Probably not as most would say the team that is expected to advance did advance.

I like the Duckworth Lewis calculation because it factors in the "uncertainty principle". Cricket is indeed a game of glorious uncertainties, right? we have seen so many times in past.

World Cup format changed because of us, World Cup qualification process changed because of us, now I guess DLS rule will also change because of us? We should be proud!

Unfortunately, money is more important than the game itself.

The game will always win.

We did get lucky with the rain. And DLS calculations arent perfect.

That being said, we won our virtual knock out, that too from an impossible position against a team that was also beating AUS by the same DLS calculation the article cites. Australia lost theirs.

We beat NZ, who would have beat AUS, who would have beat us.

All 3 teams could claim justification for progression to semis.

How about we got lucky a little further and made it to the final, I believe we were at a 80-20 to win that against Pak?

Did those criticizers forget how Pak won the World Cup making one of the lowest ODI scores in one match - only with the application of their faulty system?

This actually disproves the theory that emerging markets can remain useful engines for growth.

You realise Duckworth and Lewis are English? All they're doing is pointing out an alternative way their own system could he interpreted that would probably make more sense.
