Shakib was hit for more than 10 runs during his powerplay over, that's why he took himself out of the attack and used the pacers instead. I think his mistake was to not use rafique properly...

Anyway, I hope this experience will toughen him up for national duty. This type of closely contested game is needed in the domestic circuit for the players to develop their game.

Bangladeshi fans are turning into India/Pak fan day by day. we are taking this stuff way too seriously. Players like Sakib, Tamim they are our national asset, just because they lost a game, or did something we wish they didn't do doesn't mean we have to start swearing at them, and start shooting at their house. Mashrafee said it somewhere in the past, we put everything on the line and try out best, but it hurts hearing disgraceful comments (galagali) from the fans.

It was a very important innings, he opened Aftab and Shuvo played bone head shots. He kept the scoreboard ticking batted very well in the Middle overs. Abhani bowled very well in the PP overs forcing those Rash Shots from the above 2 and there fielding was outstanding taking away a few sure boundaries from Ash on the rope saving 4 runs.

Went from 17 (38?+) before News break to for 43(69) and ended on 52(76). Very well paced.

Tamim pulling a JOB and running on to the Pitch and Taking a Stump was the best Part, he was so Pumped!

Besides Ash no other national players clicked in the match...
We will indeed have tough time coming ahead of us...national players are not consistent at all...

it might have not been very special, but those 52 runs ended up being very crucial. i don't know if you watched the match or not but if you did you would have known he was actually playing with a very calm head until he got out. no unnecessary shoot. he hit only 2 4's in the innings, him and riyad were picking up singles pretty quickly too.

That was a very important knock by Ash. He played as the back bone of the innings. A very sensible one. I'm sure if he was not run out at that stage he would increase his strike rate. This is how the main batsman should play ODI innings.

completely agree - the run out wasn't rlly Ash's fault; Riyad ran hard and forgot to check where his partner had gotten, Ash has always been poor at judging runs.

However Ash played a great match - showed great maturity taking quick singles wherever available along w/ Riyad. Both were very impressive because this kind of performance is replicable - hitting 6 sixes as naeem did is much more difficult to replicate (although i do love naeem as well).
