In my opinion, National team players did well. They were lagging early on but did catch up in style at the end.

Mushi, Raqibul, Ashraful all opened and had success. That is a great news. On top of that Zunaed also seemed like coming back to form. Shakib struggled with the bat. Did fine with the ball. I am sure he will be back as a leader comes back in the real games.

Since SN's stats had to go through the filter of good vs. bad teams, isn't it only fair to do the same for Zunaid if they are in contention for possibly the same slot in the national team? Lets not forget the last two scores were during the relegation league.

Z's average decreases 8 runs per game against strong opponents. SN decreases close to 30 runs per game.
However, Z's SR increases like 40% against better opponents. Whereas, SN decreases 14%.

As I said, whoever is chosen (i hope both and not Aftab and Alok) need to perform in coming assignments.

Ash (41 avg overall) did reasonably well in this DPL. Mahmudullah averaging 50, chokka Naeem hitting 6 sixes in one game. Replacing them would not be right because they are growing.

The concern is bowling with Shewag, Dillu miya coming to town.

^^^ Let me start by saying I like Z but you can't make a case for him over SN. SN's avg is still higher than Z for the better teams. SN can be a huge asset to the team if he bats 3 or lower and the openers and see of the top two pacers for the first 10 to 12 overs.

Bowling is definitely a concern. Maybe someone will step up. If Nazmul can maintain the line and length he showed in the recent ZIM series, that will be good.

We can't drop catches and miss run outs. No room for error.

I still feel letting Aftab loose with license to kill (to counter Sehway, Dilshan) may not be a bad idea. I know there's a huge discrepancy in talent but I'd rather that than Tamim take on the idea that he needs to be the one hitting out from the get go chasing a big total.

Although I'm not a big supporter of Ash, his place should still be secure in the team but Not as a top order batsman. If SN is not included, Naeem may not be bad for #3.

Anyone averaging what JS averaged in the last few outings (intl) can't be in the team. But it doesn't matter what we think. JSiddons will keep him. May be because of his slip catching or too much faith on him. On top of that SN replacing him, Takla won't take that. That is why instruction was sent early to Mushi, Ash, and Raqibul to open for their league team as cover.

We may see a new pair opening all together in the Tri-series.

So national team players, barring Rasel, played reasonably well in the super league (ones that got chances to play).

Shakib did well as a bowler, although not as a batsman.

Kalabagan did not dare to give Shahadat any match in the super league after the beating he took in the regular league. It will be a joke if he gets selected for the national team.

Zunaed should be included in final 11 and SN will be there but on the sideline. Let's see what happens.

ash averaged 37 overall...not bad, and 41 last year...i just hope he can average 30 against G8 sides from now on. i'll take idiotic dismissals and suicidal RBW if he just averages 30 and gives us 4 eids a year instead of 2.
