Default Why we need Raqibul

Even with the help of a 6, he scored 32 off 40 balls. So many dots, this guy struggles to rotate the strike. Someone needs to question siddons why do we need this blocker at number 4? We have a fairly long batting lineup till number 9 , our middle order contributing and assuming Mash may be back soon why do we need Raqibul, the test player, to be playing ODIs or T20s?

I think Aftab can be brought in at 3 and Ash at 4. Or Ash remain at 3, Sakib 4, Mushfiq 5, Aftab 6. We need more hitting power during powerplays to match the batting strength of India or Sl. Otherwise even with scores of 250+ we will always be staring at respectable defeats. What do you think?

When he came into the team, he was praised for rotating the strike well.

Since Ash looks comfortable playing the role of Raqibul...And even Imrul seems more like an accumulator, I say bring on SN (not Aftab) for either Raqib or Imrul.

Reason: SN is a very good player of spin bowling and bowler like yuvraj will never have the same type of day with SN batting. He can accelerate too when needed...
Not Aftab because aftab is known to struggle against quality spin bowling although better at playing pace than SN.

I kind of agree on principle that when Imrul(#2) and Ash(#3) play that role in a consistent basis and the field is more batting friendly, then there may be no need of a batsman like Rakibul in the ODI.
But the real question is are Imrul (no track record yet due to lack of data) and Ash (bad track record based on past data) will be consistent enough to play that role?
Until we know that for sure, I guess we will continue to see Rakibul in the team. Play who knows, he may learn and grow and improve his SR... its not that its only rkibul who had a bad SR... in first ODI Rahim had SR 60 and in 2nd ODI Ash had a SR of 60... and Imrul ended up a SR of 70 after staying for 100 balls.

Pardon my ignorance. who is talking about the possibility of dropping Imrul here?

I thought we are talking about Rakibul's role/nead in the current team.

Are we talking about the Raqibul the Rock or the selector?

if u guys can talk about dropping rock, then literally u guys also have to talk about dropping imrul and ash.

imrul: he got runs today, but he needs to improve a lot on batting skills. Bd needs another opener like tamim. the game of cricket is really fast nowdays. the openers have to be daring.

Ash: chiggie wiggie shots that he wants to play all the time. However, most of the time, he doesn't get success by playing those shots. yes, he is getting runs, but playing defensive thoka marani and chiggie wiggie shots are not gonna help him. the way he plays nowdays, it had to develop when he first started his career. then later on, his average could get upto 30 plus and start playing attacking cricket like shewag/dilshan play nowdays.

my choice: SN for Imrul , Aftab for Rock, and Kapali for Ashraful.

nowdays even 400 runs is chaseable. if bd bats first, the first thing is to look for getting atleast 350 runs on board. It's true that bd team is now improving. However, other top-class teams are going for advanced cricket which is scoring 350+ runs.

tamim
SN
aftab
sakib
mushfique
mahmudullah(solid batsman 30-50 overs)
naeem( 6 hitters.. boost up the score during 40-50 overs)
kapali(6 hitters... boost up the score during 40-50 overs)
mashrafe
razzak
nazmul/rasel
rasel
