Default The LUCK factor in Bangladesh team...

Sometimes I just feel that the Bangladesh players all play the game hoping they get lucky... I mean one day they score a century next day duck. Its almost impossible to guess which player will do good on what day... how much of it do you think is actually the player and how much of it is luck?

i think most games that we`ve won were luck ...in the games where we`ve performed well were the players.

Luck has to be there, a batsman who gets out can say " the ball could have moved an inch more, and my edge would have been a 4" The bowler after being hit for 4 can say, if only the batsman played a second later he was out, and etc. So in order to win a game/perform well, luck is a MUST

I remember how Mashrafee always used to say he always felt different on the morning of every match that we went on to win...funnily enough he was often the best performer in those matches.IS that luck or belief?

Ash always seems to think he's unlucky..which is why he tries to glide to 3rd man again next game.

Sakib also thinks he's unlucky every time he holes out..so he keeps hoping he would get lucky enough times in one match to score a match-winning innings.

Imrul seems very lucky with his edges flying for 4, but long as its four that's all that matters.

How about we all just work hard and actually practice shots we want to play? Maybe then luck wouldn't be involved as much..

Luck has nothing to do with anything. Simply hang on to the catches. You will win your number of shares. Change the net practice to something that illustrates to real game. Move the nets out and have 15 fielders. Now practice. Let us see how many 4 or 6 balls you are actually out.

My belief is doesn't matter how many hours you spend in the nets 8 hours a day 4 days a week, you will not realise your mistakes there. That is why we make the same mistake again and again. Mushi keeps dropping catches. In practice everything is fine. In game time the concentration level differs. He has to be put in the middle and then see how many catches he really can catch.

That's how Abahani used to practice under Sarwar Imran in the 90's (and probably still do). The batsmen would be asked to place the ball in the gaps.
