Nasir Jamshed, the Pakistan opening batsman, has been arrested for cheating during a school exam, according to an AP report.

A senior police official, Haider Ashraf, said in Lahore that Jamshed was caught "red-handed" on Monday during a ninth-grade English exam that would help him pass higher secondary school.

Jamshed, 20, played the last of his 12 one-day internationals against Sri Lanka at Dambulla last August. A left-handed opening batsman, he has 353 runs at an average of 35.30.

He was not among the 37 cricketers awarded a central contract last month by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

I think it has to be more than that. He got caught red handed, offered a bribe to the professor, professor refused and he said "Oi beta chinos amare?! Ek phone dimu ar tui khellas!" Or maybe I am watching too much Bangla movies these days.

Furthermore, does cheating in a ninth grade exam in Pakistan really warrant an arrest? That country is nuts.
