eto kotha bole labh nei.
Shakib will be the captain for a loooong time.
Ash or HB were very inconsistent but still were captain for a pretty long time but Sakib still is
showing his qlty with bat & ball,so no chance to replace or handover captaincy or anything else.
HE leads from the front & to do that a captain has to prfrm which Sakib is doing quite often.

If management agrees, should they change the captain just before a tournament like WC? The topic is not about Shakib or Mashrafe. Question is whether we should change captain before a major tournament like WC or not? Is that so easy to take full command & control over the team all on a sudden?

Mr. AK420, lets agree with you. Are you sure Mashrafe will be able to lead the team properly? How? He is such a good captain like Imran Khan or Clive Loyd? These 2 legends also would take time to take full command and control after coming back from injury. It is a complete new thing for Mashrafe.

Anyway, whatever we decide, Shakib is going to lead our team in T20 WC 2010.

Taking captaincy from is like taking test status from BD now. BD struggled in their first decade of test playing and now they are coming out as a consistently strong opposition. Shakib is like BD who got captaincy without having earliar experience and now he has passed one year and he will definitely improve. We all know he is one of rarest BD cricketer who actually learned and improved

^^^^ What are you saying.
In 2007
Tamim was = 0 , now he is 99.99
Shakib was = 50 , now he is 80.
Mushy was = 30, now he is 70.

Thus, Mushy and Tamim has improved slightly more than Shakib(But came to became no.1 all rounder)

Shakib didn't get make Abahoni as a champion...Noakhali top sports was a epic story. And now NCL. Yes, he may be very good incase of taking wickets. But, his captaincy, and batting performance is questionable. Did Shakib score any half centuries in pcl/ncl?

I'm not talking about Ash/Mash here.
How do you know Shakib is targetting for 65? There is also something called "bad form" that even the greatest cricketers go through. Shakib, for one, is a player who targets 200 and gives everything to achieve what he can.

Well seeing the practice match against Barbados. It actually makes me more confident to say that Sakib should give up his captaincy. 11 runs and was the costly in bowling.

I dunt why everyone is arguing about his performance here. No doubt he is a good player and just because he is off form for literally this year so far doesn't mean he should be kicked out or anything. What i am saying is he should give the burden to Mortaza who is a lot more experienced than him and used to handling more pressure. Look at Sakib, He is the main bowler right now as well as one of the main batsman. The team is very depandant on him. It does not happen that often where u have to do extremely well in both sides. As a result captaincy on top of that is too much to take in. Oviously he would wanna stay as captain as it is a very prestigious job but he does not realize that this could lead to smthing bad. Look what happened to Ash. Haven't u guiss noticed how every player that becomes a captain gets kicked off the team after that? Pilot, Bashar, Ash.....
He is still very young and he will have plenty of time to be a captain. But now he should work on his consistency.

big tournament, not a good time to change captains.

sakib will have to be on the brink of being axed from the team before anyone thinks about changing captains.

He has definitely been out of form especially with the bat but the question is, is it due to captaincy or just out of form ? Also, Not considering Alok Kapali for this upcoming T20 WC tournament is a huge let down.
