Default Roadkill()

Can video games help with batting abilities? What if a game where you are an old pedestrian trying to cross the freeway and others trying to kill you? You decide.

In the 80s ATARI there was a program where a chicken had to cross the road. At each increasing level cars came faster and faster with limos and longer cars and it became increasing difficult to cross the road. If I remember correctly at more advanced level you couldn't stop at the 'island' or you had to cross at one 'go'. It's not a leap of imagination to notice that essentially when a batsman is trying to hit the ball he is trying to get it pass the 'cars' in form of fielders with bigger and taller Oram like fielders as 'game' progresses.

Can one fine tune their games by getting hold of these old video programs? It's almost analogous to a God's p.o.v billiard game where you try to shoot the ball from center to the boundary....

It may be a bit cerebral and pedestrian but it's no laughing matter. Even US military fighter pilots use these sorts of game.

Your thoughts...

^Yes, but it's not about flashy interface rather abstraction to fine tune specific parts. In short, Wii has too much foreplay....

Video games improve hand eye co-ordination and speeds up response time. But as Dravid recently demonstrated, none of those are required to be a good cricketer.

OTOH, video games almost always deteriorate attention span and logical thinking, which was, once again, demonstrated by Dravid to be the extremely important skills to have.

You decide.

Maybe they should play international cricket 2011 and try to attempt some of those fake shots. No one will know what to do about it.
