BDFlag Show the world you support BD Cricket!

The True Bangladesh Cricket Fans must show the highest support for BD cricket when it matters the most--NOW! The cricket fans from all over the world are screaming louder than ever before to take the Test Status away from BD. They have some very good points. But what they dont know is BD Cricket is not doing too bad as compared to some other elite teams. We are really good at the age level cricket, we are doing very well at the Academy and A level tournaments. Its just recently we have hit lowest of the performance cycle for various reasons.

Regardless, whatever the reason or performance is, show the world you care, by counter attacking negative comments in cricinfo or other cricket sites, by adding comments in the blogs or comment section. So many of you spend several hours and hours here at BC, write hundreds of comments per day, but dont go outside this site. Now is the time to something, write your comments or publish articles where it will count.

There are so many cricket legends, gurus, savants, sage in BC forum, but I hardly see any positive comment from them at cricinfo!

1. Post positive comment about BD cricket every chance you get, such at cricinfo.

2. Like/Add Bangladesh homepage through facebook! Do you know BD is ranked #3 in terms of facebook like?

3. If you are a writer, keep/start writing positive things about BD cricket and try to publish them in local newspapers, cricket magazines/sites.

4. Counter attack at other fan sites, justifying our status. I know it is very difficult to do so, but you need to show your support, when we need it more than ever before--NOW!

Here is where you can get started:

This is what I post:

BD is doing very well at the A Team, Academy and U19 Team level! BD WON 4 day matches against South Africa, England, West Indies A Team and Academy Teams in very recent past. U19 Team won the the longer version series against ENG. These are all good signs. The national team is going through a bad patch. Give them a little time, they will come back strong! BD has the potential, ESPN telecast all BD home games LIVE!

If you are in Dhaka, show up in the match with a placard saying you support BD Cricket.

I really don't think the players care about us fans, they have been taking our support for granted, it seems they enjoy causing us pain as they don't train hard enough and are enjoying their short span fame.

Munna bhai, take it easy! Please tell me (if you wish...)
> where in Bangladesh we play five day matches in a regular basis in Bangladesh?
> How may cricket tarining center we have in total? How many outside Dhaka?
> Who runs BCB?
> Does BCB has a vision?
> What is our future plan?

Should I continue?

Please don't just blame the players.

Yes, our team are stinking up the joint! But, let us take a step back.

Do you know how many years it took for teams other than AUS and ENG to achieve its first test victory?
IND: 20 years
NZ: 26 years
PAK: 4 years
SL: 4 years
WI: 22 years

Could not quickly locate it for SA, but it was likely 20+ years as well.

Although PAK won its first match in 4 years, they would remain a doormat until the generation of Majid Khan, Imran Khan, etc came up in the '70's. Thus, our struggle, while disheartening, is quite typical.

The only team that became a force quickly after being given test status is SL. We are no SL. That much is known.

But Shuja bhai, how many matches did IND and NZ played in those 20+ years? As far as I know, there used to very few matches in those eras. If someone can give match statistics, it would be more easy to analyze.

I support BD through best and worst times. I will support them till I die. I will do all because it's my country and the land of my forefathers. But to be honest, statistics wise we don't have much leverage to defend our current situation. In the 11 years, we should have been in a better position.

We all know the team is not doing well at all right at the moment. Our time will come soon for sure.
The thing that worries me, what if we dont retain the Test Status by then?

But we will be fine, beacuse next ICC VC will be from BD. ACC CEO is also from BD.
Plus we are pretty close with BCCI and PCB.

Number of games were less than us, but by that time their 5th generation of players were playing. Also India, Pakistan, and NZ used to play 4 day test matches for long
time. So it was easier for them to draw. England and other top teams used to send
their 2nd team. On one occasion England sent two teams at the same time to Australia and NZ. One more thing, they did not have the pressure of expectation, media, etc.

So we will be alright. It is frustrating when we see our own fans and media so cruel to our players (let alone Indians and others). They are kids and we need to be by them in times like this.

I know it is very frustrating to support these bunch. But if you pay attention to some of commentary, say what Rameez Raza way saying, it is utterly shameful and disturbing for us. Do you know why they relatively keep silent when Aussies get bundled out for 45 or ENG loses by an inning? Because their fans and media will just eat them alive. Our media dont complain a bit, even when multiple bad umpiring decisions go against us.

Its not about blindly supporting, its about standing up against the unjustice (liked biased umpiring) or something silly/wrong (BD should stop playing cricket) or against something derogatory against our culture ("this part of the world"), faith etc.

In other words, if someone is not right, tell them right in their face. Dont keep silent. If you do, you will be taken advantage of and look down upon in every aspect of your life.

But I agree, result can shut all the critics. We just have to stand by when our cricket needs support from us, hopefully we can save our Test Status and one day under the right management we will prosper.

We are always here to support BD regardless of what we say during the emotional and frustrating time. It is just a spontaneous overflow of powerful emotion for BD cricket.

Well said, I completely agree there, I didn't hear what Rameez or others have said about our cricket though, the test match was enough humiliation, but I believe that if they've said anything , it's coz our team has given them a chance to say it, as commentators they will praise the winning team and criticise the losing team. Not defending anyone, but Im sure the same people who have criticised us will shower praises on us if we do well
