Would have been a run-out anyways.

Our BCB is embarrassing us again BTW, there was not a second run there, because riyad was running to the danger end.

Riyad would've been FAR more likely to hit that elusive boundary.

Bottom line is, we got robbed by Cheema.
Well we lost due to range of reasons and the primary reason is Move-n-Pick loving Shahadat and the chicken of a batsman called Nazimuddin.

Just because it happened at a critical juncture of the game (if not tournament) doesn't give umpire the right to ban a player for obstructing, even if he wanted to.

ICC rules :

Law 37 of the rules of cricket sanctions a strict penalty for the fielding team if a fielder is found by the umpire to deliberately obstruct a batsman while attempting a run. Neither batsman can be dismissed (if a run-out has taken place), five penalty runs are awarded to the batting side, the delivery will not count as one in the over, the run will count even if the batsmen haven't crossed and the batsmen can choose which of them faces the next delivery.

Whether or not there was intent behind the collision is for the umpire to determine; in this case, after the players had collided, the umpire Steve Davis was seen having a word with both players. The delivery yielded a single.

Yep, but umpire can't ban the player, which is what OP is calling for.

Speaking of penalties, where is that 5 runs that we were supposed to be awarded?

So if the decision goes our way:

the result could get reversed in our favour.

Exactly. this sounds like bad losing.

We lost, if we act poorly now people will think we are sad losers.

I was just checking the video footage again. There been an obstruction by bowler for sure, I dont think this footage can actually bring any definite proof whether that incident was deliberate or not.

yes...ur right umpire can't ban anyone..the word 'ban' here pretty much used as hypothetically ..u can say in other word an outburst of protesting an illegal approach..if you guys talk abt Mortaza was defending Afridi..thr was never a collision there..moreover Mortaza was following the balls flight to receive from the fielder...

Anyway..debate will arise again and again no matter what...I do respect all of your thoughts n views regarding this thread. It is something not to achieve from ICC..it is something to let the World know what needs to be done more in future times so this kind of concern does not happen again

For Bangladesh ...this kind of closing/opportunities does not come very often..that is why I pointed my views regarding Cheema's act...

Do not forget about past what Rashid Latif also did back in 2003 with Alok Kapali's catch...All these scenarios can be a part of a game but when that happens every time against Bangladesh ( who is still weaker nation in cricket), it really hurts the players, management and entire nation !

We do not need cups or need to be champ !! All we need is justice in future times with these players to keep their morale high...

I am sorry once again if still this thread finds someone pointless and rubbish and will ask the moderator to close it!

Thanks !

This complaint was bad. It make us look silly. ACC has already dismissed it. All BCB achieved was insult to Bengali nation. We played superb cricket, were the best team, but lose and win is part of the game. Why cry after?
