Match vs Qatar wasn't an official one...
http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/con...ds/337081.html
The margin of victory of 328 runs does not appear 2nd on this list as it should and the match is referred to as "other OD" as well on the player pages.
Sucks for Soumya and Haider, but I guess Qatar is not good enough to warrant official Youth ODI status.

What are you saying...? Anyone participating in this tournament should have same status...or is there any standard policy or ranking of these teams....??

The 4 games today...only 2 of them are official (BD-SL, IND-PAK)...none of the 4 games from last night were official.
If someone cracks a triple or takes 10 for none against Qatar later on, that will validate the ICC's decision.

I agree though, just as senior AC, all matches should be official if there is a qualification process for the minnow sides.

What's your source Asaad? Are you sure they haven't updated it? And besides, there is no such thing as "official".

CI updates things within minutes of a match ending...so yeah I'm sure. Also check the scorecards...the Qatar game doesn't say "Youth ODI # ___" but the upcoming one v SL already says #814.

Regardless of it's "official nature" of not, the fact of the matter is a match, a cricket match, happened and we all shared a real time passion. The fact that some authority or a website does not acknowledge does not diminish the passion a bit.
The scorecard goes on to show a post-war, floood torn, hurricane ravaged poor country may be at the bottom of rung in terms of many factors, but reflects that the dream of people remains top-notch of how they want to see their team perform.
My point? meh

I am not complaining, the Qatar team is too weak to be given any importance in the record book.

Even if it was an official ODI, it shouldn't get to their heads. It's just Qatar. I didn't even know they played cricket.

Apparently Afghanis are good enough to smash Qatar. We should not make too much out of this match.

Match against Qatar should not be an official because their performance is not even worth to be counted as Official

Any bunch of our average 12-13 year olds who play cricket in the afternoon just for fun can be more competitive than sides like Qatar so I understand where ICC is coming from.

I don't think anyone's making "too much out of this match" at all. We're applauding a couple of standout performances, standout even in school cricket let alone a U19 Asia Cup, by our own kind. We're bummed that due to the baffling unofficial status of the match in a legitimate ACC tournament, those achievements won't be officially recognized as the world records they are at this level

Well said. From purely a "connoisseur des nombres" p.o.v it would always be an oddity -whether recognized officially or not- and it feels good that our country is part of it.
A double is a double.

This match may not an official one BUT its result will be taken into consideration for group standings. Now, BD has a healthy RR only because of Qatar match. If BD's match against Afg washes out then BD will qualify for Semi's due to better RR over Afg. So, nothing is meaningless
