Rumor was Nazmul Hasan Papon accepted and Hasina approved it.

Is it official yet or still a rumor? If not (official), it will be pretty soon.

ঢাকা, অক্টোবর ১৭ (বিডিনিউজ টোয়েন্টিফোর ডটকম)- বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের নতুন সভাপতি হিসাবে নিয়োগ পেয়েছেন রাষ্ট্রপতি মো. জিল্লুর রহমানের ছেলে ও আবাহনী লিমিটেডের ক্রিকেট কমিটির চেয়ারম্যান নাজমুল হাসান পাপন।

যুব ও ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রণালয়ের সচিব মাহবুব আহমেদ বিডিনিউজ টোয়েন্টিফোর ডটকমকে জানান, বুধবার সকালে এ সংক্রান্ত প্রজ্ঞাপন জারি করা হয়েছে।

পাপন বিবিবির শীর্ষ পদে আ হ ম মোস্তফা কামালের স্থলাভিষিক্ত হচ্ছেন। আইসিসির সহ সভাপতি নির্বাচিত হওয়ায় নিয়ম অনুযায়ী বিসিবির পদ ছেড়ে দিতে হয় মোস্তফা কামালকে।

Papon replaces Kamal as BCB chief

Dhaka, Oct 17 (bdnews24.com) - The government on Wednesday appointed President Zillur Rahman's son and Abahani Limited cricket committee chairman Nazmul Hasan Papon as the new President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Youth and Sports Ministry Secretary Mahbub Ahmed told bdnews24.com a circular in this regard was issued in the morning.

I for one is happy about the selection. He is extremely well educated with no previous allegations of any wrong doings in any capacity. He is also an avid supporter of sports in the county.
I guess the only thing that looks bad on him atleast in the eyes of some people would he his political affiliation but SHC has the same affiliation and with the same party.

Saber Hossain, Lotus Kamal and Papon are all well educated and smart people. LK is not the favorite amongst BCites but I think he made more positive impact to bd cricket than negative.
