Default Petition to ban T20 cricket.

Guys i used to like T20 cricket when the concept came out. It was exciting times and it really did uncover some dangerous batsmen ie Keiron Pollard. It was entertaining watching big sixes and also those sneaky scoop shots over the keeper. Also the death over bowling by particular bowlers was something to admire about. It WAS entertaining.

Now its just annoying. Cricketing nations play waaaaay too much T20 cricket. In T20 most of the time its a one sided match. The game ends too quickly and it just makes me sick hearing about the different types of tournaments like the IPL, BBL, Champions League T20, World Cup T20, BPL, SLPL, PPL, Friends Life T20 and whatever the South African T20 comp is called. And also why cant the names of these comp be a bit more original?

I am derprived of test cricket. I value test cricket over T20 cricket. I just love the white clothing. Ami shaada jinish ke pochondo kuri. The red leather cricket ball with one side scruffed and the other side as shiny as the early morning sun glistening into a shimmering rainbow shows the tactics required for test cricket. I also love the respect of the batsmen leaving the ball outside off. The temperament required in test cricket doesnt match any other sport in the globe. I also love watching those balanced, well timed cover drives. Test cricket requires intelligence. T20 is a fool mans sport.

Why cant they make a test match series as franchise based? I think that would be a good idea. Get all the best test match cricketers around the world and versue each other in test matches. Id like to see the likes of Clarke and Sanga in the same team whilst the likes of Steyn and Starc bowling in tandem. I think this would be more successful than T20 cricket.

I think the cricketing world does not play enough test cricket due to T20s. ICC have gone over the top with T20s which is hurting the game. T20s are just utter crap. I am here to fix all this. I am making a petition to ban T20s altogether. I need peoples names so we can start a worldwide revolution. I say enough is enough. We need to stop this disease before its too late. Im aiming to get 1000 names in this petition. Think of this petition as a medication to get rid off the disease (the disease is T20 cricket)

As i say all the time, test cricket is real cricket.

Banned internationally and franchise but not domestically. It won't ever happen simply because of financial reasons. Way too profitable and players make heck of a lot of money as well.

I find it boring to be perfectly honest with you. It's not really cricket, is it? Neither is ODI but at least in 50 overs match you get more entertainment out of it. Lot more drama, twists, upsets, heartaches, tears and so on.

Having said all that, I think domestically T20 may be a good opportunity to find some explosive batters. Apart from that I don't think it should be served as a source of entertainment for anyone, especially youngsters.

Honestly dont get it. Why are people still bitching about T20. It's here to stay. It's the ODI that has lots of issues. ODI should be killed, it's nor short or long.

And how can you want T20 gone when you own a T20 franchise? What!?

all formats have their roles, killing any of them is not the answer imo. it is very tough to debut straight to test cricket, i know people say you can't select a player for one format based off results of another but a young up coming player can get exposure to quality bowling in the shorter formats before entering test cricket which is the toughest version of the sport. ODI cricket allows players, especially batsmen to work on their allround skills, as they learn when and how to accelerate and when not to, it can really help them understand how to play in different situations and conditions which i don't really think t20 cricket can help as much with.

t20 has it's place, it's a money maker, it's excitement but i think they need to limit how much is played so the format isn't overexposed. t20 is already getting less crowds than it was bringing in when it first came to internationals and it being played so much doesn't help, it also takes crowds away from the other formats. same goes with ODIs, they shouldn't play to many, not that long ago we were getting ODI series that were 5+ matches and that's to much imo.

People are complaining only because we suck at it. Had we managed to get to 2nd round of WC you would have seen things like BPL= best thing ever.

If anything we need to see this format as an opportunity to bring the difference between us and G8 nations down. T20 is already influencing the other 2 formats and it will continue to do so. The more we pretend like this isn't real cricket or this format is hurting our players, all we are doing is digging that hole deeper and deeper.

BCCI didn't like T20 either until they ended up mastering it.

No money no development.... It's as simple as that. And T20 is not only money, it's also full on entertainment. Hope you get the difference between watching 100m sprints and Marathon...different kind of entertainment. You may not like the excitements of T20 ... But doesn't mean you shout to ban it.... Very silly and childish, looks like you fail to understand T20.

It's innovating new skills and shaping all the formats of the game to survive with time.

I was saying T20 cricket in general. I didnt even reference it to the Bangladesh team in any way. I was talking about IPL, Champions League etc and how T20 is too repetitive and there is way too much of it. As i matter of fact i did even say the word 'Bangladesh' or even talk about the Bangladesh team in this thread. So what makes you think im complaining about Bangladesh being bad at T20s? If you havent realised we suck at cricket in every format so what makes T20 so much different?

All im saying is ive lost that enjoyment in T20s and im sure that alot of people feel the same way. T20s is a game that is too one sided and i made this thread because i really dislike T20s atm and i havent been watching enough test cricket of recent times as well.

And as for the Bangladesh team the main focus should be in tests, not T20s. Test cricket is a much harder skill to master and frankly T20s can wait.
