Neither reactionary nor responsive vigilantism is a sustainable solution because both break the law in order to influence what it believes to be justice. That only adds to the original problem. You simply cannot restore law and order by breaking the law yourself, not even a little bit "for the common good", and resorting to extrajudicial means in the process no matter how noble the end appears to be.

We need to allow and empower law enforcement agencies, as corrupt as they are, to handle such crimes as per the letter and the spirit of the law without partisan influence. That's the only way to overcome the vicious cycle of so called "political" violence in a society where the rule of law needs to be of paramount importance. That being said, people also have the lawful right to defend their property and themselves

Bangladesh-seeks-pakistan-apology-for-1971-war-crimes
By AFP Published: November 9, 2012

DHAKA: Bangladesh’s foreign minister on Friday asked her Pakistani counterpart to apologise for war crimes committed by the army during Bangladesh’s bloody liberation struggle in 1971, a ministry official said.

Dipu Moni made the request during a meeting in Dhaka with Pakistan’s Hina Rabbani Khar following previous discussions about the issue between the two countries, said Bangladesh’s Foreign Secretary Mijarul Quayes.

“The foreign minister has raised the 1971 issue and expected that Pakistan would apologise at one stage,” Quayes told reporters after the meeting.

“There are some unresolved issues between the two governments and she expects that Pakistan would come forward to resolve them,” Quayes said.

I reckon so. Something embarrassingly cool about clever jailbreaks.

This was more than a breaking news I guess....it was so non pro for a university like CU...

Chittagong, Nov 5 (bdnews24.com)—Bollywood stars like Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif are appearing at this year's tests for admission at the Chittagong University. Thanks to the technical glitches in a flawed online application system.

Anyone can get excited to have a look at the admit card of this year's first applicant Md Sabbir Hossain, who is appearing at the admission tests under Ka unit, as the card carries the photograph of none other than King Khan himself.

Happened on the same day as the factory mishap. Under construction flyover collapses and they recovered 12 bodies from the debris..

My parents were in that road near the flyover and an hour later, it collapsed.

'Weak autopsy report to save Biswajit killers'

Dhaka, Jan 4 (bdnews24.com)— Ananta Chandra Das, the father of slain boy Biswajit Das, on Friday alleged the autopsy report of the old Dhaka youth had been toned down by the doctors for ensuring lesser punishment to the killers.

"My son had sustained multiple stab wounds. But I have heard that doctors have mentioned about only one injury in the post-mortem report," Das told a press brief organised by the Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mohajote (BJHM) at the Dhaka Reporters Unity auditorium.

He also demanded punishment for the killers and said, "The real killers should get punishment, not the innocent ones."

What's your point? Are you implying that BNP supporters don't do the same with the inflated-hair Begum?

In Bangladesh, neta-der niye nacha-nachi is a national trait. It's not restricted to any party.
