Ha ha... BCCI proablly trolling again. Even a Pak team gets chance there, it will be all about more revenue generation from Pak viewers from arround the globe, and to jinx PPL scheduling. BCB should be jealous and also hope it will jinx their PPL organization, so that keep Pak players' interest in BPL lives.

চ্যাম্পিয়নস লিগ টি-টোয়েন্টি প্রতিযোগিতার প্রথম তিন আসরে অংশ নেওয়ার সুযোগ পায়নি পাকিস্তানের কোনো দল। কালই জানা গেছে, ভারতীয় ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের নাকি পাকিস্তানি দলের ব্যাপারে কোনো আপত্তি নেই। চতুর্থ আসরে পাকিস্তানের একটি টি-টোয়েন্টি দল সরাসরিই সুযোগ পেয়ে যেতে পারে। এমন ইঙ্গিতই ছিল বিসিসিআই সভাপতি এন শ্রীনিবাসনের।
এই প্রতিযোগিতার নিয়মানুযায়ী এতে টেস্ট খেলুড়ে প্রতিটি দেশের ঘরোয়া টি-টোয়েন্টি প্রতিযোগিতার শিরোপা জয়ীদের অংশ নেওয়ার কথা। এতদিন বাংলাদেশ থেকে কোনো দল পাঠানো যায়নি কারণ, বাংলাদেশে কোনো আনুষ্ঠানিক টি-টোয়েন্টি প্রতিযোগিতা ছিলনা। কিন্তু গত ফেব্রুয়ারিতে এদেশে আয়োজিত হয় কোটি টাকার টি-টোয়েন্টি প্রতিযোগিতা-বিপিএল। কিন্তু চ্যাম্পিয়নস লিগ কর্তৃপক্ষ জানিয়েছে, চ্যাম্পিয়নস লিগে অংশ নিতে হলে বাংলাদেশের টি-টোয়েন্টি প্রতিযোগিতার চ্যাম্পিয়ন দলটিকে বাছাইপর্বের বাধা ডিঙিয়েই যেতে হবে। অথচ, অস্ট্রেলিয়া, দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকা, ভারত, শ্রীলঙ্কা, ইংল্যান্ড, নিউজিল্যান্ড ও ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজের টি-টোয়েন্টি চ্যাম্পিয়নই কেবল নয়, এই দেশগুলো থেকে একাধিক দলই খেলেছিল চ্যাম্পিয়নস লিগের বিগত আসরগুলোতে।
বাংলাদেশের টি-টোয়েন্টি প্রতিযোগিতা বিপিএলের প্রথম আসরে চ্যাম্পিয়ন ঢাকা গ্ল্যাডিয়েটরস। সে হিসেবে তাদেরই চ্যাম্পিয়নস লিগে খেলার কথা। তবে ফ্র্যাঞ্চাইজিটি যেন সরাসরি চ্যাম্পিয়নস লিগে খেলতে পারে সে ব্যাপারে বিসিবি আলোচনা চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে বলে জানিয়েছেন বিসিবির মিডিয়া কমিটির চেয়ারম্যান জালাল ইউনুস।
এ ব্যাপারে প্রথম আলো ডট কমকে জালাল ইউনুস জানান, ‘আমাদের দলটিকে বাছাইপর্ব খেলে চ্যাম্পিয়নস লিগে যেতে হবে বলেই এখনো পর্যন্ত জানি। তবে এ ব্যাপারে বিপিএল গভর্নিং কাউন্সিলের চেয়ারম্যান গাজী আশরাফ হোসেন চ্যাম্পিয়নস লিগ কর্তৃপক্ষের সঙ্গে আলোচনা চালিয়ে যাচ্ছেন।’ তিনি জানান, বিসিবির লক্ষ্য বিপিএল চ্যাম্পিয়ন ঢাকা গ্ল্যাডিয়েটরস যেন সরাসরি চ্যাম্পিয়নস লিগে খেলার সুযোগ পায়।

বাংলাদেশ প্রিমিয়ার লিগে (বিপিএল) আইকন ক্রিকেটারের নিয়ম তুলে দেওয়া হতে পারে। আইকন ক্রিকেটারদের নিয়ে ফ্রেঞ্চাইজি দলগুলোর ওজর আপত্তির কারণে বিপিএল গভর্নিং কাউন্সিল এ সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে যাচ্ছে।

বিপিএলের প্রথম আসরে ঢাকায় গ্ল্যাডিয়েটরসে মোহাম্মদ আশরাফুল, চিটাগং কিংসে তামিম ইকবাল, দূরন্ত রাজশাহীতে মুশফিকুর রহিম, খুলনায় রয়েল বেঙ্গলসে সাকিব আল হাসান, বরিশাল বার্নার্সে শাহরিয়ার নাফীস এবং সিলেট রয়্যালসের জন্য অলক কাপালিকে আইকন ক্রিকেটার নির্বাচন করে দেওয়া হয়।

আইকন ক্রিকেটারদের পারিশ্রমিক নির্ধারণ নিয়েও অনেক জটিলতার সৃষ্টি হয়। প্রথমে বলা হয়েছিলো আইকন ক্রিকেটার তার দলের সবচেয়ে দামি ক্রিকেটারের চেয়ে পাঁচ শতাংশ বেশি সম্মানী পাবেন। ফ্রেঞ্চাইজিদের আপত্তির মুখে শেষপর্যন্ত দুই লাখ ১০ হাজার ডলার মূল্য নির্ধারণ করে দেওয়া হয় বিপিএল গভর্নিং কাউন্সিল। এই সিদ্ধান্তও মেনে নিতে পারেনি দলগুলো।

খুলনার সাকিব আল হাসান এবং ঢাকা গ্ল্যাডিয়েটরসের মোহাম্মদ আশরাফুল ছাড়া বাকি চার আইকন ক্রিকেটার সবগুলো ম্যাচ খেলার সুযোগ পাননি। তামিম ইকবালকে প্রথম দুই ম্যাচে খেলালেও পরে অতিরিক্ত তালিকায় বসে থাকতে হয়েছে। শাহরিয়ার নাফীসও শেষদিকে খেলার সুযোগ পাননি। অতিরিক্ত তালিকায় থাকা ক্রিকেটারকে আইকনের সম্মানী দিতে আপত্তি করে ফ্রেঞ্চাইজিরা।

পরবর্তী আসর থেকে আইকন ক্রিকেটারের বিধান তুলে দেওয়া প্রসঙ্গে বিপিএল গভর্নিং কাউন্সিলের চেয়ারম্যান গাজী আশরাফ হোসেন লিপু বাংলানিউজকে বলেন,‘বিষয়টি আলোচনা পর্যায়ে আছে। এখনও কোন সিদ্ধান্ত হয়নি। যে কোন সিদ্ধান্তের আগে ইতিবাচক এবং নেতিবাচক দিকগুলো খতিয়ে দেখতে হবে।’

আরেকটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে যাচ্ছে বিপিএল গভর্নিং কাউন্সিল। পরের আসরে বিদেশি ক্রিকেটারদের সর্বোচ্চ নিলাম মূল্য আড়াই লাখ ডলার বেঁধে দেওয়া হতে পারে। প্রথম আসরে ছয় লাখ ডলার নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছিলো। ফলে সবচেয়ে বেশি সাত লাখ ডলারে শহীদ আফ্রিদিকে কিনতে হয়েছিলো ঢাকা গ্ল্যাডিয়েটরসকে।

আইপিএল ছাড়া অন্য কোন দেশের টি-টোয়েন্টি ক্রিকেটে এত বেশি পারিশ্রমিক নির্ধারণ করা হয় না। অস্ট্রেলিয়ার বিগ ব্যাশে বিদেশি ক্রিকেটারের সর্বোচ্চ নিলাম মূল্য আড়াই লাখ ডলার। বিগ ব্যাশকেই অনুসরণ করবে বিপিএল গভর্নিং কাউন্সিল।

Just watched on BAnglaBhishon news that from next yr BPL, there went be any more "Icon" thing.
and the salary over all for every player will go down.
No Icon as there are icons who didn't serve much such as SN & TI
And too much payment to Afridi & Ghayel althgh they didn't play the full tournament.

It was the franchises fault, not the players. They should have known Afridi Ajmal Pollard has other commitment so they should have bidded accordingly but nah they went for big names and now they are complaining.

This news is revealing some secrets of strugling BPL payment issues now, first for the foreign players then the locals. This indicating the lack of luquid fund & unwillingness to abide payment cotract of BCB & performers by these mean-minded businessmen.
All these was bound to happen when proper written contracts with frachises were absent from the start. "Setting maximum bid range", "no benefit for icons", "abolish icon player"- all focusing reducing expenditure will risk the quality of the show in next episode for sure.

আন্তর্জাতিক খেলোয়াড় কল্যাণ সমিতি ‘দি ফেডারেশন অফ ক্রিকেটারস অ্যাসোসিয়েশন (ফিকা) প্রচ্ছন্ন হুমকিও দিয়েছে বিসিবিকে। পাঁচ দিনের মধ্যে দেশি-বিদেশি ক্রিকেটারদের সমুদ্বয় পাওনা পরিশোধ না করলে খেলোয়াড়দের স্বার্থ রক্ষায় আইনি পথে হাঁটবে সংস্থাটি।

ফিকার সভাপতি টিম মে শনিবার সংবাদ সংস্থা এশিয়ান নিউজ ইন্টারন্যাশনাল (এএনআই)’কে জানিয়েছেন বিপিএলের ক্রিকেটারদের পাওনা এখনও পরিশোধ হয়নি। বিষয়টি বিসিবি সভাপতির দৃষ্টিতে আনার চেষ্টা করছেন তিনি। ক্রিকেটারদের বকেয়া পরিশোধের জন্য ফ্রেঞ্চাইজিদের ওপর চাপ প্রয়োগ করতে বিসিবি সভাপতিকে চিঠিতে অনুরোধ করেছেন ফিকা সভাপতি।

ফিকা নেতা লিখেছেন, ৯ মে বিদেশি ক্রিকেটার এবং ৩১ মে স্থানীয় ক্রিকেটারদের সমস্ত বকেয়া দিয়ে দেওয়ার প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিলো ফ্রেঞ্চাইজিরা। সে সময়ের মধ্যে বিদেশি ক্রিকেটারদের সম্মানী পরিশোধ করা হয়নি। এভাবে বার বার প্রতিশ্রুতি ভঙ্গ করায় ফ্রেঞ্চাইজি, বিপিএল এবং বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ড (বিসিবি)’র সুনাম ক্ষুণœ হচ্ছে।

বিসিবি সভাপতির কাছে লেখা পত্রে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে, ফ্রেঞ্চাইজিগুলো সমস্ত বকেয়া পরিশোধ না করলে আশা করবো বিসিবি চুক্তি অনুযায়ী ‘গ্র্যারান্টি মানি’ থেকে তা পরিশোধ করবে। আগামী পাঁচ কর্ম দিবসে সব ক্রিকেটারের বকেয়া দেওয়া না হলে আমরা আইনি পথে তা আদায় করতে বাধ্য হবো।

বিপিএলের পরের আসরে না খেলার জন্য বিদেশি ক্রিকেটারসহ বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেটারদের অনুরোধ করেছেন ফিকা সভাপতি।

ফিকা থেকে সত্যি কোনো চিঠি বিসিবি সভাপতি পেয়েছেন কি না তা জানা সম্ভব হয়নি আ হ ম মোস্তফা কামালের মোবাইলফোন বন্ধ থাকায়। বিসিবির ভারপ্রাপ্ত সিইও নিজামউদ্দিন চৌধুরীও মোবাইলফোন না ধরায় কোনো তথ্য পাওয়া যায়নি।

এদিকে বিপিএল সম্পাদক সিরাজউদ্দিন মোহাম্মদ আলমগীরকেও মোবাইলফোনে যোগাযোগ করে পাওয়া যায়নি। বিপিএল গভর্নিং কাউন্সিলের চেয়ারম্যান গাজী আশরাফ হোসেন লিপু ক্রিকেট পরিচালনা বিভাগের সভায় ব্যস্ত থাকায় রাত পৌনে ৮টা পর্যন্ত তার প্রতিক্রিয়া পাওয়া যায়নি।

ICC CEC discusses allegations of corruption in BPL

The International Cricket Council's Chief Executive Committee on Monday recommended that a report be sought from the Bangladesh Board on the allegations of corruption in the recent Bangladesh Premier League.

The CEC, which met on June 24 and 25 as part of the ICC Annual Conference, "recommended to the ICC Board that the BCB be directed to deliver a comprehensive report on the allegations of corrupt activities during the BPL."

It also reconfirmed the necessity for all Member Boards to have in place and implement domestic anti-corruption codes.

After hearing that neither BCB nor Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have incorporated domestic anti-corruption codes yet, the CEC recommended that the ICC Board instruct these Boards to implement codes forthwith and, in the case of SLC, certainly before the start of the Sri Lanka Premier League Twenty20, which is planned for August 2012.

The CEC also considered the importance of a uniform set of anti-corruption regulations across all full members in order to avoid any potential jurisdictional loopholes and/or inconsistencies in the continued and ever-vigilant protection of cricket from corruption.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has finally fallen back to their well-worn method of forming a committee to resolve the problem regarding the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

When all and sundry were looking forward to a bold decision from newly appointed BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon regarding the long-pending issue, all they got was a declaration that a three-member committee headed by senior vice-president Mahbubul Anam has been formed to look after the matter during the board meeting yesterday at the game's headquarters in Mirpur. Vice-president Ahmed Sajjadul Alam and director Ahmed Iqbal Hasan are the other members of the committee who have been asked to submit their report regarding the financial issues of the BPL within the next seven days.
