From the BBC :

Messi muddle
Lionel Messi has now failed to score against Chelsea in eight matches
The last time the Argentine went three games without scoring was in October 2011
Had Messi scored against Chelsea he would have broken the European record for most goals in a season - he remains on 63 goals.

I'm gutted for Ivanovic. I can't even begin to describe how hard he worked today - literally covered 3 positions: RB, RCB and LCB. He completely epitomised everything I love about Chelsea today.
If you watched the match carefully you would have seen even with all that possession Barcelona had they couldnt get through Chelsea's defense. Barca struggled to create overlaps even when Chelsea were a man down. It was very good compact defensive but Barca/Messi choked.

Messi shouldve had the penalty to take it into extra time but that didnt happen. I applaud Chelsea. Drogba defended man on man really well. Chelsea pulled off an amazing victory.

Im a Madrid fan so i loved it when Barca lost.

Cant wait to hammer Munich. Im confident Mourinho will guide Madrid to a Champions League victory.

HALA MADRID!

I feel so sad for Ivanovic after this! Geoff Shreeves has no soul, should've let the lad enjoyed the night!

Torres scores once in a blue moon and Messi misses penalty once in a blue moon. He is still by far the best player out there. Barca plays with flair and art. They control the game and wants to score. Not like Chelsea who scores one goal and then send all their player and even Drogba to defend.

Thats the only solution to our vulnerable defense. If Chelsea can score twice with 18% possession I wonder....

anyways Pep needs to tighten up the defense for the next season and thats about it... and ppl can expect the possession % number to hit 90%...

Listen to this, If Barca wants teams not to park the bus, they should start to be more direct and stop passing sideways too much.
barca needs to put one two more dimensions to there games always side and short passing on the ground makes teams easier to park the bus .... higher tempo and longer passes and also may be inviting opponents to attack more so that they can create more spaces may work.

800+ passes in a match where most of those were either from one wing to another or along the back 4, is just boring football.

We all know messi is the best player in the world right now . We also know he has scored 63 goals this season . What some of us dont know is , Messi Never scored a goal against Chelsea in the 8 matches he played against us. He had a golden chance this time but he bottled it.

If a side could come away from a match with 84% overall possesion and yet not win , then they do not deserve a better fate. The deification of Barcelona encourages us to believe tiki taka is the only truly legitimate style of play - but this is patent nonsense.
Recently, Barcelona's football has been easier on the eye than their results. We should never forget the point of football is to put the ball in the net - there are no prizes for possession.

If defending were easy, every club could leave the Camp Nou with a 0-0 draw - but Barcelona have hit four or more goals in 15 of their 28 home games this season, including hauls of seven, eight and nine.

Keeping Barcelona at bay takes hard work, discipline and tactical awareness.

We should celebrate different styles of play, not berate them.

Chelsea crushes QPR by 6-1. A timely big margin win. Match against NewCastle will be a crunch

Its Spurs that I am worried about . Newcastle lost last night and they have to face Man city. Spurs have some easy games coming up .

Biggest night this season. Bayern Munich have home advantage and things look better for them with couple of key Chelsea Injuries . Hugely nervous and couldn't sleep last night trying to figure out how we could stop the Ribery-Robben-Gomez Combo.

Having said that I am Proud of the boys whatever happens today. The fact that we're even there today is amazing considering the season we've had. COME ON CHELS!

All the best Chelsea fans, but Bayern obviously has to be the favorites playing infront of home in UCL Final. Couldn't get better than this! Lost the count of the number of players missing the final.

My prediction, 2-0 to Bayern. Gomez to score a brace.

Drogba poised to leave Chelsea

Quote:
Didier Drogba has confirmed he plans to quit Chelsea after the side's UEFA Champions League final triumph, according to reports in France.

Drogba, who has reportedly already agreed a deal to join Shanghai Shenhua when his Chelsea contract expires this northern summer, is said to have admitted he struggled to get the words out and burst into tears.
