I really like the fact that he steps up when the team really needs him unlike tamim who fails all the freaking time when the team actually requires his service. Yes tamim got those flashy innings of his but dude you are not gaining any respect from me by going about how you going. Whereas this kid has won my heart, immature at times but shown tremendous cricketing knowledge, reading situations well, planning and executing it. Keep working hard and you have got a bright future ahead Nasir. (Rant and explanation of changing my fav player from tamim to nasir)

Didn't tamim scored 139 or something to beat zimbabwe in zimbabwe? or that doesn't count? btw Asia cup win also came because of his contribution on the top... please stop this nonsense... A player fails and right away we are on their case

Those 50s were more to prove a point than anything else. The 139 happened quite a while back and so were the glorious hundreds in England. I am not questioning his abilities or even his performance (even though it has been quite poor) but the fact that he never stands up when the team requires. Being a senior member and considering shakibs absense, mushy mahmudullah both stepped up but I just did not see the intent in tamim. The intent of being responsible.
Anyways this is not his thread so i better not go tangent here.

Nasir always seems so calm and composed - in fact, his response to the sledging on the final match showed some character. It's really refreshing to see a BD batsman respond to the opponents' sledging in such a cool manner.
He's got the right attitude/temperament, a tad bit slow SR IMO, but he can really be the perfect middle order batsman we need.

overall not such a great series but really came through in the final battle. had a really good test series though, might have missed a couple of centuries but i'm sure he'll rectify that. he is a consistent performer.

@Gowza: I think all of our batsman need to learn to convert those 50s into 100s. But not just 100s but big 100s, 150, 180, 230 etc at test level, 120, 130,150+ at ODI level. Someone like Shakib should already be on 10 test 100s had he converted all his 70+ scores in tests thus far and instead of averaging 35, he would've averaged well over 40 at this moment. Nasir Hossain is a young man who will learn from it as time passes by......

Nasa, comeon man, whats yr problem with 90s ?
I think he should talk to someone like Enamul Hq who has been on nineties many times and successfully got there.
nevertheless its great to see him scoring big , looks like he enjoys longer version.

He gets runs regularly but he has a poor conversion rate. He needs to work with it.

Definitely. On a serious note he must not plan how to celebrate his hundred before he starts his innings. I am not being sarcastic here.

maybe that's what motivates him to get so many runs....but he definitely needs to convert more. in saying that he should be a definite in the test XI, he does make a good amount of runs, just needs to work on those conversions. pretty sure he got a high 80s score in the NCL just before the test series, then got a couple of 90 scores in the test series and now just after the test series has got another 90s score.

Nasir's on some serious form. In his last 6 FC matches he's scored 638 runs @ 58. He's scored 1 century and 5 50s and been out in the 90s 3 times.

While after one century "Ashraful thread" is running like crazy and this thread is barely getting any love after Nasir's century.

Congrats Nasir! I don't much like 100+ s/r knocks in tests, but that's how he plays and I'm good with that, ideal #6-7 batsman. Great consistency too! I hope he becomes Shakib 2.0 (except his conversion rates) with the bat, which looks like he will

Congratulation. Among all the batsmen BD had, you seem to be the most consistent.

I'm pretty sure Nasir's maiden Test hundred celebration would be a gangnam dance, but now that he did it after the last ODI he will think of somethng new.

it would have done Nasir a world of good had he played in the BBL.
Would have earned money, experience in foreign conditions and more importantly be exposed to quality cricket
