I do not think our players barring Shakib has reached the level where we can go and start rating them. For instance, a batting wicket-keeper is desired by all teams. We know we have not produced one yet.
If we have someone taking wickets, he also creates comedy of errors in fielding. If somebody doing good fielding, we won't see him doing good with the bat that day.

Besides we so far had barely 2 generations of international cricketers whereas we do not have enough past records of doing consistently good. At least 5 years consecutive performance with galore is necessary before we can go for such rating. When we do also need to keep in mind we cannot rate the players played earlier in context to current team members.

Otherwise a lot of 'may be', 'if' etc. will arise and will only create confusion in discussion.

Mushy is a fine batting WK. In time, Inshaallah, will become world class. Though, he needs to play more FC and improve his concentration span.

I brought up his economy rate because i wanted to explain to you that he is proven to keep things quiet. You made him sound like he got spanked around and wasnt good enough but in reality batsmen found it hard to score runs off him. Very accurate with his bowling. And btw 7 T20s is a decent amount of games to be averaging 10 with the ball and to have an economy rate of 4.65.

How is it a false analogy? You clearly stated before that Rafique wouldnt make it into the Pak, SA and other teams because his bowling average is 40 in tests...

Rafique was overrated among BD fans and for good reason too.. but not outside of BD. He wasn't a great bowler by any means but a decent spinner who tried his heart out playing for a terrible team.

To use the term over rated is a bit tricky. You can not last long with your overrated status. In the past lot of players were overrated and all of them are now in their old fashion. Players from Siddons era,Rock has failed to find the 11 in BCL, Zunaid is almost same. So if you are over rated, in long run you will come to your original position. Its tough to comment on who is over rated. But in Bangla Cricket lot of young players are over rated.
Regarding underrated, To me Jahurul is a bit underrated. Siddons once commented that Tamim and Jahurul will be the future Bangladeshi batsman. So I hope one day he will come to fruition.

Recently our pacers are going through very bad patch on and off the field. They are not getting a good deal in BCL, not getting enough respect like an SLA does, have become almost black sheep of club cricket and also criticized by the fans.

For instance, Abul Hossain making his debut just created a world record by getting one of the fastest centuries of test history. But, nobody seems amused much about it. Since his debut till today, we saw posts from veteran and young BC members alike bashing him for his performance as a pacer. As he is a quick bowler everybody agrees to the fact that this would be his primary duty and unless he cannot produce dominance over opponent top order, whether he makes some runs or not does not really matter even if that makes an impact on the result or gives a face saving gutsy innings to relish a bit.

But, unfortunately same is not true for few big name players. To illustrate our skipper day by day is getting worse in his keeping. While he improved his batting a lot, he can make a simple catch look like as moving mountains and thus acknowledges the impossibility of holding on to it. Fans forget easily, start bashing him and her for not playing with enough responsibility while improvising shots but do not pay emphasis on primary rules like "catches win matches". Now, the primary duty of a wicket-keeper is to ensure possible stumping and holding on to catches behind the wicket. Also to ensure extras kept to minimum from a wayward delivery.

We can say that well he dropped Samuels twice but he made a fifty, enough contribution for team full of zombies. But, Samuels moved on to 200+ and we lost by 150+ runs does not cut to it. Like no matter how good a pacer you are if you have a similar pacer about 1 foot taller, you would go for the later; same should be considered for a keeper. I have been watching his game since his debut in England when he made headlines making a century in a practice match. He is technically good capable batsman and that should be his only forte to make his room into the leading eleven.

A taller, skillful wicket keeper who can bat a bit is the need of the moment.

That would have to be Dhiman. Pavel and Mit'hun are the other candidates in theory until you visually compare their keeping and batting skills side by side. Granted he has issues, but Dhiman's a way better WK than both of them put together, especially Mit'hun who makes the Captain look like Gilchrist, and the better batsman as well IMO. That being said, Sohan will probably be the more permanent solution in the future.

i think whoever questions Rafique's ability should really take a look at this scorecard. He totally outdone a class team.

Who's this Faisal Hussain? Is he Faisal Hussain Dickens? If he's Dickens, he is a domestic bully like Tushar Imran.
