This is a good point. Outside subcontinent our batting is very weak. All subcontinental teams are also very weak out side like us. So our main target should be to do well in home ground first.

Well that's what I said, we need players who can score big at home. We need to make flat pitches/ pitches assisting spinners.

B C L has started. We will see the top order. Some new top order is also found. Farhad Hossain batting at #3. Asif Ahmed will open for Dhaka. Most noticeable will be Aftab will open for east Zone.

It was good to see Jahurul making runs. Imrul is showing some kind of form which is good.

The top order batting order will be solved if Bangladesh can make a lot of their pitches fast and bouncy because we seem to be changing our top order due to them of not playing the short pitched delivery well or express bowling and until we don't sort out our pitches, the struggle will remain. We also need to focus on our fast bowling because this area is essential to win test matches and at the moment, we're nowhere near close to becoming a force in tests.

If we consider the N C L averages, among the top order only S N and Jahurul have averages around 40. S N has got lot of chances to prove himself but Jahurul did not get enough. So I want some chances for him.
Imrul is also doing good. Only problem I see with him is low conversion rate.

haha...Jahurul struggles with the short ball and pretty ordinary against pace bowling so he's just a walking wicket for Bangladesh. This just shows how poor our first class structure is.

We don't have any good opener yet though Imrul got some runs in NCL,those runs are not enough to consider him.

In tests Our middle order is totally packed. So some players are trying to test their luck at top order. This is really good to see.
1. Rajin opening for east Zone.
2. Asif opening for central zone.
3. Mominul batting at #3 for east Zone.
4. Farhad batting at #3 for North Zone.
To me Mehrab jn also can try him at top order.

I am enjoying BCL a lot. All the teams except North has realized that they have problem in top order. So everybody is concentrating on that with different combinations. We can see lot of make shift top order as well.
1. Shuvagata opened for central Zone and Rock at #3.
2. Forhad at #3 for North Zone.
3. Razin Saleh at top order for East zone.
I hope teams will be able to find some new top order.

Yes Mominul should try him at #3. As he was playing. If Shuvagoto tries him at top order, is not a bad idea. Our middle order is already packed in test cricket. I don't see any place for Marshal Ayub at middle order despite some good NCL performance.

Our top order is a real worry. Only Maisuqur, Jahurul and Anamul have performed to an acceptable level in FC. It looks like a middle order batsman would have to be converted into a #3 in our Test team in future.

In test cricket our middle order is almost fixed. And there is hardly any place left. Only gaps are available in the top order. In this case best option is to try luck at top order or oust Riyad/Nasir/Naeem by extreme performance. And you already have seen that lot of players are trying there luck at top order, such as Farhad Hossain,Shuvagato Hom,Razin Saleh,Mominul and lot more.

If he can score 200s at 4, isn't it obvious that he's good prospect for that 3 position?

At the moment, people who ought to be in contention for no. 3 slot (provided Anam opens): Ayub, M'ullah, Naeem.
Who shouldn't bat at 3: Nasir, Mushy, Shakib, Mominul (if he plays).

I would have agreed with you a few months ago, when we had guys like Nafees, Jahirul, Junaed and Ashraful competing for top/middle order positions.

Now that we have Anamul to possibly pair up with Tamim (it's about time he gets a Test cap), Naeem in the mix, a good looking middle order and Mominul among the reserves, we seem to have greater stability at least on the flat tracks of Bangladesh. I expect us to be 0/1 or 0/2 or 0/3 less often (it will still happen, because these idiots still don't completely know how to hold a bat) and as a result, the difference between #3 and #4 widens. They are two fundamentally different positions and require different skill sets and, if I may go as far, personalities. I personally expect a #3 to be able to play the role of makeshift opener, but I don't expect that from a #4.

^^ good post. It's a point I've been trying to make. There are times when we lose early wickets which means our #3 effectively plays as an opener. A batsman who's played predominantly in the middle order would struggle as he doesn't have the skills to face the new ball. The player could then lose confidence if he performed poorly and it'd have an overall negative effect. The worry for us is that we have several middle order batsmen performing but not enough top order batsmen.

I think i have posted this like 3 times but ill repeat it again. Ayub ws predominantly batting at #3 when he scored the double century. He was at #4 but the #3 batsmen Rakibul got out for a duck so he was pretty much facing the new ball. Ayub should look to bat at #3 for Bangladesh because the other spots are filled. I wouldnt want him in the middle order because it might upset the balance for the rest of the batsmen.
