I think the Punjab brigade (Top 4 - Gambhir, Sehwag, Kohli and Yuvraj) are deliberately under-performing to get Dhoni removed as captain and have one of them replace him. Gambhir and Sehwag should be dropped. Sehwag especially has been atrocious in the last one year.

They have a lot of options....why not use them ?
A.Rahane , A.Raydu , Agarwal , M.Tiwari , S.Tiwari , U. Chand , C.Pujara , M.Vijay , etc.
India team is blessed with a lot of top class batsman but they r lacking in the bowling part. So,why shouldn't they make the 100% use of their stronger part ? If someone like Shewag/Gambhir is not performing, they can drop him to regain his form by playing in the domestic level.

This match is a disgraceful mockery of ODI while participatings names are India & Pakistan! just as like the pathetic test match going on with SAfrica & NZ. These games now prooving itself such a meaningless onesided series! Overrated Indians are no match with current Pakistan team, and I doubt if they can even defend any series with Zimbabwe/Bangladesh at home with these very poorly performing squad. No compitition! No motivation! Poor attitude to play int match over domestic tourney. This is shameful for Indians. I was more happy to see motu Akram Khan going down the wicket to hit six to give crowd glimps of hope of win almost from zero positioned situations back in days when we used to loose nearly every matches.

Oh no.. captan cool made his half century and remained not out (probably his 100th not out). This is as good as a win for him. His long list of excuses will also come out, how India are the best odi team in the world despite losing series to pak, losing odi series in australia, losing asia cup, losing series in eng/ sa. lmao.

So called greatest batting lineup in the world has been exposed so many times it's not even funny, the moment the ball starts seaming/ swinging/ bouncing, they are in no man's land.

India is suffering from too many so called superstars in one team. neither the team can drop them, nor the team can afford to carry too many dead woods in the same team. End result :total Dhoppash.

On the other hand, in immergence of Junaid, Irfan and (in a way) S. Malik replacing Afridi made this bowling side more stronger. And jamshed is a real stud, stabilizing the operner slot. However this PAK team is not without anyy weakness. The middle order (#3, #4, #5) is filled with wrong type of batsman, In a batting pitch, if theeir opener falls quickly, this middle order is not capable to get runs with decent RR, two of them is ok ... but three of them one after another? Its too much...that the only weakness in this team I see ..... there is no excuse scoring only 250 after getting 140 for 0 with a RR close to 6....

What????!!!

This is exactly what cricket needs - the team with the better balance between bowling and batting won. It was as much a bowler's game as a batter's game. There was drama - and there was rhythm . A good future for ODIs - especially with the new rules.

We will give India Mehrab Hossain, Tushar Imran, Nazimuddin, Da Rok, Faisal Hossain, Shahriar Nafees, Ashraful and Junaid Siddique and they can give us Kohli.

We had just one Ashraful and how long it took to get rid of him.

India has too many Ashrafuls in the team.

You hit the nail on the head. Indian selectors are giving the excuse of these players having good past records and these players winning the WC. The problem is these guys are all out of form and Kohli was bailing them out with his to form. As soon as he cools down, you see how how weak this batting lineup is. It's time to shake up this side and let the regulars know that they have to take their places seriously and not for granted.

As for Pakistan, they look a very strong side. Good pacers complimented by very good spinners make them dangerous. Batting needs to improve for sure. Jamshed has been a great find. However, it's inexcusable to have a guy like Umar Akmal riding the bench. He needs to be in the lineup. Have Azhar, Misbah, and Younis focus on Tests. They should focus on long term and have the likes of Asad, Umar, Hammad and Fawad in the lineup. Sort term they could hurt but long term they could really benefit.

Always good to see India lose and/or get humiliated, especially at the hands of the Pakistanis. Even more so when it conforms to the tradition of Pakistan's bowling bossing the Indian batting. But Pakistanis are doing a bit of bara-bari over the BCB tour cancellation...they need to get smacked a bit to bring them down to earth.

its just that Indias best batsmen are not in form.
Sehwag..Gambhir,and recently Kohli hasnt done much.
so its all up to Dhoni and Raina.
otherwise I thin an inform Gambhir or Shebhag or Koheli r very much capable of dominating this Pak attck.
another thing is India r playing too much cricket ,they need break so that they can mentally and physically and strategically prepare themselves better.
for the time being they should drop Shehbhag and bring Rehane back.

I would love for anyone to tell me when Indian batsmen are in form unless the pitch is flat. How convenient that they are in form against west indies and nz on flat pitches and start scoring 100/ 200. But when going overseas or playing good bowling on non flat pitches they lose form. It has nothing to do with form but quality of bowling/ pitches. Please let them play zimbabwe on flat pitches and all their lost form will come back.

I hope they drop atelast one of those three: Azhar Ali, Younis and Misbah....too boring middle order... kills all the momentum created by openers.
