Sorry, but Ash had to play slow. Everyone around him was gifting their wickets. Because of the other morons in his team, he had to play defensively.

Ash is the hero today, look he played longest inning, he scored the highest run, he bowled whenever he wants in the game, He didn't give away many run when bowled, I can go on and on about him. He has endless talent.

I didn't see the game today, it couldn't have been that bad right? They were never going to recover from 20/5 without shakib. I don't think Ash batting faster would have made a difference in the game, considering there were no batsman left to come.

Um, playing defensively was pretty much pointless in that scenario - in the end they didn't even get all-out
Won't blame him for team losing at all, but 'Ash had to play slow' is such a lame excuse. He was defending when Req RR was 18+ too.

I Agree completely. He had to play slow to reduce the margin of defeat as much as possible by playing maximum overs. Match was already lost.
@shakibrulz he isnt supposed to know that they wont be all out at the end, the way wickets were falling. so please criticize going back to the match situation.

Amazing that he's no longer part or needed in our national team. I remember him being part of our team where our team back then 01-07 was literally pathetic. Had it not been for him and Mashrafe, Bangladesh back then would've been in even more of an embarrassment so he had a lot of pressure over his head during that time and we at least have to give him credit for his services back in the Bashar, Khaled etc days.

its easy to understand that the game was compromised from the beginning. the way Cob, Shah and Stevens got out , it shows they are not interested to spent any time on crease. now need to find out, whether it was setup by the management or the players. from today's reports in the newspaper, it seems like it was done by the team and Sir ash was just the scapegoat for this one.

This particular innings just gave more fuel to the following idea: - Ashraful's 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear is missing

yes...nobody can dare to claim that Ashraful has no back gear. So yes he has back gear.
Infact Ahraful is very much attached to the word "back". Some examples:
- He is considered the come back kid many times.
- He knows how to use the back door
- When his back is against the wall, he gives us a great innings
- He is accused as a back stabber by few haters
- He performance comes back and goes and come back again and then goes again
- He rarely have back to back good innings
- He used to score more back in the past
-...

Ei thread ta eto kahil keno?
when (E)Anamul scores 50+, he becomes instant hero ... the next supersta in making ... but hwn Ashraful scored that 50+ became instant zero and villain and selfish.
Now every body is talking about Jahu/anamul/Sabbir/Shamsu should be a must in the national team , even some are trying to mak ea case about SN, Zia and Mominul even they are ordinary.
Where is the love for the real gangnam Sta?

Uh, match situation didn't demand slowing down. You have to take that gamble. The match was probably 96% lost, but unless you try, you get that up to 100%. That's the whole point.
And the NRR takes a massive hit if you manage to play out 20 overs for a bizzare 88. I don't get your 'margin of defeat' argument.

agree.
Besides Ash started the innings very slowly, if we look at the way Cobb & Enamul got out, both tried to play shots, the intention was there, they wanted to chase but the execution was wrong.
But Ash never looked like he was in the chase.

Ash is now officially Rockon 2.0 . For years to come, he will remain as a highly valuable player in domestic circuits, but hopefully out of national team consideration.

Universal truth is:
Sun will rise East, and Haters gonna hate,
Lovers gonna love, but Ash won't find a date
