good post Fazal mamu
I'm pretty sure if he gets two good innings in the next two matches we will star saying positive things about him.
Just like we did about JAhurul & SN.

This kid's going to come good. He's just having a bad patch, and true, he may not have adjusted to the T20 format just yet. I don't usually back a player this much, but Mominul, I'm positive will do well.

Too early to say how good Mominul will end up being in international cricket. He seems like a good player but he's still very young and learning. As we saw with Tamim, Shakib, and Mushy in their early days, they struggled very much with their temperament as well and were poor in the beginning. As they grew older, they've matured and are now far more consistent. International cricket is a very tough place to perform consistently especially for such young batsmen. So give him a bit of time and support and let's see how he does.
That being said, I'd be reluctant to give him a spot in the upcoming SL tour. It'll be a very tough tour and if he's in poor form, it would be a bad idea to throw him in and have him struggle. There's still time in the BPL so he's still not out of consideration for a spot but he needs to put in some bigger scores.

why judge player based on format? its possible player could be bad at some particular format. clarke is one of the best player in the world but he is not even average in T20. may be mominul is not a T20 player. but he is good for test and ODI (mainly ). so dont judge him based on T20 performances.
mehrab jr and marshall did great job in longer version match, not too well in T20.
on the otherside milon, sabbir, zia are T20 specialist, they should stick with their best format.
why trying chagol diye haal chash or kathal gase kolar asha kora.

It may be a blessing in disguise for Momin that he is not doing too well in BPL. He needs to go back to A-team, to get his issues sorted out.

I've got hope that this guy will turn out to be a gem. He has balance at the crease and is compact with every aspect of the game. He might look shaky now but those characteristics i've stated shows he has good potential to be a solid bat for us. The element of his 'compact' batting will allow him to flourish especially in his defensive game. If i tell people to pin point his flaws in his technique i dont think people will be able to list any. I think its all in the mindset and confidence. I've got faith in Mominul.

T-20 can be a harsh format as batsman are required to have a go at it from ball one. I would not write Mominul off by any means. Hope he gets to play other formats and gets back into contention. Who knows there is still a lot of game left in BPL itself and he might just set the stage for his selection with couple of brilliant innings

if BPL took place before Mominul got into the team, I wonder if the selectors picked him over Shamsur/Milon/Jahurul..
but anyways now that he is in the team, we have to support him and he needs to step it up big time. With the possibility of Shakib missing the SL/Zim tour we'll clearly be a batsman short, and we really cant afford Mominul failing throughout the tours...

he should be persisted with in the national team imo. t20 cricket is a different game to the other formats, but also i don't want what happened to shuvagata to happen to mominul. shuvagata did a fine job when called up to the national team but was dropped off the back of poor domestic form and he's still not recovered from that, i don't want that to happen to mominul. also keep in mind for awhile top national teamers wouldn't do so well when going back to domestics, shakib performs a bit better now in domestics but there was a time when he didn't really contribute too much when he went back to domestic duties. i know we want to get the players out of that habit but my point is even good international players can do badly in domestics but continue to play and do well internationally.

Didn't deserve to be in the national team in the first place.
Very poor FC average. Started doing well since last year. Before that he was very inconsistent. Need another 2-3 years in Domestic and with the A-team.

Never judge a player on his T20 form, stats, or play. Its not REAL effing cricket, man!
That said, Mominul might not be ready, but he wasn't terrible in the WI series. He's no Anamul, so don't expect him to start hitting tons from his debut series.

It was hard to tell whether Mominul will be good enough for international cricket especially in foreign soil. He is only few matched old and that too in our domestic pitches. But what I saw I liked.
Mominul is the left handed Bulbul that we very much need in our middle order; more so in test than ODI. But before we throw him in the hard circuit of test cricket, we should groom him by playing ODIs. I would still pick him for SL series purely because their condition is not that much different than our ours.
And people who started to shout Shamsur, Shamsur just based on his recent T20 performance, should be reminded not to too much based on a different format. I guess the message has been mentioned few times already by few other poster but to no avail.

32 isn't 'very poor' - at best it's average in context. Mushy for eg. averages around 30 in FC (he has played more matches though). He was fairly consistent when he got called for the national squad.
But besides that, I'd agree that he needs more FC/A tours etc. before getting a go in the test side.

Not suited for T20s. Needs to go and get some runs in domestic cricket.

I don't care for his FC average, I have never felt watching him that he has anything to offer at the highest level.

I think he can provide the calmness that is needed in our middle order. I like his technique, more so than Anamul; all he needs is some confidence. Yes, at the end of the day Anamul may end up scoring more runs, but one cannot deny Mominul's good batting grammar.
Anamul vs. Mominul is more like Shak vs. Mushy; the latter players in this comparisons are better in technique but just as Mushy needed extra time in the international arena to be productive and successful, Mominul will too. Give Mominul time and he will be one of the solid batsmen of BD (oops, yet another so called BC expert jinx ).

So what if Mominul's FC average is poor? He got called into the ODI team NOT the test team.
