I was highly impressed by Sajidul's bowing today. He did not bowl fast, but has the ability to hit the blockhole. Plus, he varies his length and line, and moves the ball off the seam.

He could very well be a flash in the pan, but there is nothing wrong in hoping, I guess.

Should be in consideration for the upcoming tour. He also did well in the FC competitions too I believe. Plus gives variation since he's a left armer

Glad to see Sajidul back after long time. Looked in good touch. We definitely need him in the SL tour considering how poor is our pace department right now.

His test debut was 5 years back as far as i remember against NZ.

tbh the two wickets of Sakib & Stevens were mainly due to batsmen poor shot selection.

Has he lost pace? He was quite nippy in New Zealand debut.

He definitely has used to be 80 to 82 mph. His run up and final landing is different then what I could remember. He had rhythmic run up with small jump on his delivery stride but that seems to be gone now, its more like he walks in to his delivery stride. Image below is from 2008

We have seen many one performance wonders.... Time to look for consistency.... Onek bowlers er Hat-trick o achey ekhon bhat Paye na.

if he can prove to be consistent with the ball. Why not. Take him with Jamai ador, we need pacers.

Did he smash any T20 records? Wickets of first 2 deliveries? Wickets of first and last ball on debut match?

A Rajastan Royal bowler took hattrick on debut last year. If I remember correctly.

Edit: That was his second IPL match but made his T-20 debut for Haryana in 2010

back when he first came into the national team he had pretty decent pace (consistently over 130kph) and swung it both ways, but he bowled a few too many bad balls. if he bowls around the same pace and still gets the swing but has worked on his accuracy a bit and has cut out bowling bad balls then he's worth a look. i'm sure he went on an A tour that rubel also went on (to ireland or england) and listening to commentary and reports people were saying he was very impressive (with rubel not being mentioned, so he must of had something back then at least).

No it was Rubel who was mentioned not Sajidul. I remember it because I followed that series and went to watch one of the A team match which had Tamim,Shakib,Mushfiq and Dhiman. Commentator was praising Mushfiq and Rubel. Tamim's batting was very erratic back then it was all dance down the wicket and try to hit it outside. Shakib never used to waste any balls as always back then it was more singles and doubles. Hats off to Shakib he has gone from just another good player to Mr invincible today.

Yes please. I rate them highly though I have not seen them.

Joking aside, yes they are good prospects but lets get them through the proper channel. I remember getting excited about Sajidul being a left handed medium pacer back in the day but look where he's been for the last few years. BC aunties always get to get excited about anybody these days.

i thought sajidul had been struggling with injuries these past few years, which would explain why he hasn't progressed very much.

I rate Taskin than Sajidul. Taskin has potential to be a genuine test pacer unlike Sajidul.

I think he played against NZ back in 2008 or 09.

^ ya he played 1 test match as Mash's replacement. I remember someone from BC posted a video of his bowling from that game, I looked it up in youtube but didn't find it.

Nice to see him back again. But looks to have gained a lot of weight, though. Whats wrong with our cricketers! Can`t they keep themselves fit when not playing or nursing an injury? For how long this `spoon feeding` culture will continue?

the more competitive domestic cricket gets the more professional players get and with that will come greater fitness levels. do the domestic teams in BD do fitness tests? in australia players have to pass a fitness test regularly to play. at one point mark copsgrove (who still has weight issues) was told by the south australian cricket board he had to lose X amount of weight before they would consider selecting him again.
