One day we will have a passionate BPL Franchise team or a prudent BCB director to make that a reality. I am confident that day is not too far away...I hope it happens within the next few months...

Yes we need a pace bowling academy now.In future its possible in Saber Hossains or Tomy Miahs academy . But In present condition None other than B C B is ready to start a pace bowling academy. A pace bowling academy at B K S P run by Ian Pont is realy nice idea.

Thanks Ian for bringing out the best in DG! We'd love to see as our head coach, naysayers who didn't believe in us, can go to hell.

What is the secret though? How did you do it that brought the best in the team?

Having Shakib, Mash and Ashraful in your dressing room requires some understanding of how to handle people as each player requires and expects something different often times.

I think it helped me with the local players having been a coach in BD before and it is always the secret to keep players morale high.My only disappointment was not being able to get Rocky more opportunities. He is quite simply, the very best team member a squad could have.

Not everyone fired in the team and not everyone performed as they wished. But we got enough DIFFERENT people to contribute and this is a clear factor when trying to win over 14 matches.

Being a Head Coach is all about how you blend what you have available and how you keep everyone mentally on track. The spirit and atmosphere in the DG changing room was exceptional. And this single factor is the most important of all - self belief

I wish BD well in SL. And my message to Shane Jurgenson or any other coaches who come in to work with the players is simple: regardless of who they are, every person wants to be made to feel special. Make sure that feeling permeates through the team so they can believe anything is possible.

Default payment issues

Hi Ian,
I was surprised to see you coach DG again. What made you change your mind? Did DG end up paying all your salary from last year's BPL?

Congrats Ian.

I am asking a personal question. Did they pay you for BPL1 before BPL2 started? in full? A simple Yes or no would be great. I just want to know if they are really fraud or not.

Yes, I wouldn't have come otherwise.

No. I would be interested to see who you would leave out from the 6 local players to play him though: Shakib, Ash, Mash, Mosharraf, Saqlain, Anamul?

The reality is the balance of the team didn't allow for more selections. Also, we have a top order that included Dilshan, Stevens, Cobb, Gayle, Pollard, Wright - at various times - so an extra batsman at number 8 possibly wasn't the plan.

Rocky is one of my favourite local players. He and I get on brilliantly. We also made sure he was in good form during the tournament in practice, in case we had injuries and loss of form from local players.

I see from the Final innings in the Walton matches, he is showing that great form

Hi Coach - What is your comment about Soumya Sarkar? He opened both batting and bowling during the U-19 world cup. How do you rate his comparing to other youngsters?

Come on Coach, you could have given Rocky a chance in place of that brainless slogger Cobb.

Coach, what do you think has been Rocky's problem for not succeeding at the international level? At first he looked impressive and was well on his way to becoming a solution for us at the #4 spots in all forms of the game. Then his batting took a downward spiral. Is it a technical problem he has or is it more of a mental thing? He seems like an honest, humble, hard working player who wants to succeed but just has a tough time doing it. You think he can come back in to the national team again?

You can take up to 4 if you can get permission from the others
on a serious note, I also believe Ian played a pivotal role in helping Ash overcome his mental block

Ok, I am starting a tally. Our pacers are the worst in the Test arena. Jarvis points at them and goes wassup!
I pledge a full $200 to the Ian for pace academy fund. Let's do our own Kickstart style crowdsourcing here.
