I hope SL tour will be the last chance for SN to show his worth. If he fails again, selectors better not bring him back for Zimbabwe tour stating his past record. Zimbabwe tour will be the ideal opportunity to try out some one new (Shamsur Rahman or someone else).

He is a decent middle order batsmen, particularly against the old ball and spin. However, I have doubts on him as a top order batsmen against quality pace attack and bounce...would love to see him prove me and many people wrong...

yes, if he fails in this series, his career will be pretty much over. In reality, if failes in these two TESTs, he will most likely not get any further chances in ODI.
He has a better chance of success as #3 rather than #2.
Sometimes when a players back is in the wall, they deliver. Lets see what he does.

I was surprised the way he batted against WI. He was going after every single ball like Tamim. I understand Tamim is naturally aggresive and always get a license from the team management to attack but SN's place in the team was not gurranted. So why was he going like that? The reason I can think of is he was not confident of surviving very long. So he thought of scoring some quick runs to get selected for the next match.

What a way to get yourself ruled out of a series. I actually think he would've done well against Sri Lanka had he played. SL don't have any real fast bowling threats and he is a good enough player against spin. Pretty sure he could've got at least a couple of solid 50s under his belt and cemented his place on the Zim tour. Marshall is a really lucky guy I guess. So potentially we could have three players on debut in the first Test.

My respect to SN. He could have went to Lanka, sit out the first Test, wait for Jahurul to be discarded or Tamim to sit out because of injury, and play the second Test. But instead of accepting the favoritsm Akram offered him, he decided to bow out. Kudos!

Not to blame him or anything, but I think this has been very smartly done by SN.
(Just my own suspicion) I think he feels he is not ready yet to come back to test side and it is always better to skip than to risk it and lose it for good, especially after his performance against WI.
For someone like him, there will be plenty of chances in the future and he will be better off putting up a good show in the DPL and try to make a comeback in the ODI/T20 (ref BPL) team that will be Zim bound in April, rather than going to SL as a part of test side.
If that is the case, good on him for doing it so smartly, because the accident seems very unlikely for a long time professional like him. But then again, it could be one of them freakish ones too.

I don't care what his ulterior motives are, but the selectors asked him to decide and he probably did the right thing, assuming he isn't fully fit. At least he isn't like the other half-fit sissy in the team who goes crying to the media and making those who have been selected feel like crap every time he gets dropped due to a genuine injury concern.

From speculation to direct accusation against him. Is there any teeth to this speculation? Am i missing any supporting evidence? If not, why we are letting this to happen by a certain fan here in different threads?
Do we need to pull down SN purely on sepculation so that we can make another player a Hero?
btw I am not a SN fan, and don't care if he is in the team or not.

^^ You go look for your supporting docs.
Not trying to make anyone hero in expense of someone else. Just stating what might have happened.
Never said it was wrong on SN's part to decide to play in DPL, just said looks like he chose not to and the reason is getting quiet obvious now as to why.

If I would do the same with the other super star, world war III would start in BC and I would get a warning for spreading unsubstanciated rumor.

^^ You really think SN cut his hand on a freakish accident ?
It was deliberate so that he would miss the SL tour to play in the domestic league.

^^ Not spreading rumour.
Putting facts together to find out the truth behind the scenes.
I thought Akram stopped short of stating the obvious, simply because he had to be diplomatic about his remarks.
