The Premier Division Cricket League, the country's most coveted 50-over competition, is most likely to get underway from March 15.

The inter-club players' transfer will be held on March 7 and March 8.

“A club will be allowed to register ten foreign players but will be able to field three in a match. We increased the number because you know the national and under-19 players will be busy with national duties at that time,” said Yunus.

Pakistani players have been known to dominate the league in the past but Yunus, also the Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) media committee chairman, said that they have doubts whether the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will allow their players to participate in the league after having denied them No-Objection-Certificates (NOCs) for the ongoing BPL.

^Ki bolen bhaiya, this is THE most competitive OD tournament at home. Unless you don't like ODs, which is understandable. But this is currently the best indicator of who'll be the next shooper star for Bangladesh in ODIs.

Victoria chairman Lutfur Rahman Badal is now chairman of Gazi Tank. Chris Gayle is T -20 ferrywala but Badal bhai is DPL ferrywala.

Because of Badal, Shakib and Tamim played for Victoria last year.

Akram recommended not to let 28 (25 players selected in the preliminary squad for SL tour, Ashraful, and two other plalyers) cricketers participate in the league, because of their fitness conditions.

ক্রীড়া প্রতিবেদক : শাহরিয়ার নাফীসের জায়গায় মোহাম্মদ আশরাফুলকে দলভুক্ত করার ঘোষণাটা দিলেন জাতীয় দলের হেড কোচ শেন জার্গেনসেন। কাল দুপুরে শ্রীলঙ্কাগামী বাংলাদেশ দলের সংবাদ সম্মেলন শেষ হওয়ার পর তাই ২৫ জনের প্রাথমিক দলেও না থাকা ক্রিকেটারকে নেওয়ার ব্যাখ্যা জানতে সবাই খুঁজতে শুরু করলেন আকরাম খানকে। কিন্তু তাঁকে আর পাওয়া যায় না। ফোনে ধরা গেলেও কোথায় আছেন তা বলেন না। একপর্যায়ে অবশ্য নিশ্চিত করলেন যে তিনি বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ড (বিসিবি) কার্যালয়েই আছেন এবং জানালেন, 'ভীষণ গোপনীয় কাজে ব্যস্ত আছি।' সেই গোপন ব্যাপারটা অবশ্য শেষমেশ আর গোপন থাকেনি। তিনি বিসিবি সভাপতি বরাবর কয়েক প্রস্থ সুপারিশ জমা দিতে গিয়েছিলেন। যেখানে আছে ২৮ জন ক্রিকেটারকে আগামী ১৫ মার্চ থেকে শুরু হতে যাওয়া ঢাকার প্রিমিয়ার ক্রিকেট লিগের প্রথম পর্বে অংশ নিতে না দেওয়ার সুপারিশও। যদিও আকরাম এ বিষয়ে লুকোছাপারই আশ্রয় নিলেন। শুধু বললেন, 'আমি আমার কিছু পর্যবেক্ষণ সুপারিশ আকারে জমা দিয়েছি।' বিশ্বস্ত সূত্রে জানা গেছে তাঁর পর্যবেক্ষণে ক্রিকেটারদের ওপর বিরক্তিই বেশি। সম্প্রতি শ্রীলঙ্কা সফরের টেস্ট দল ঘোষণা হওয়ার পর অনেকের ইনজুরি নিয়ে প্রশ্ন আছে তাঁর মনেও। সেসবই তুলে ধরে কী কী করতে হবে, তা-ই সুপারিশ আকারে পেশ করেছেন তিনি। ইনজুরি ব্যবস্থাপনা বিষয়ে ক্রিকেটারদের নিন্দা করে কঠোর হওয়ারও পরামর্শ দিয়েছেন বিসিবি সভাপতিকে। শ্রীলঙ্কা সফরের প্রাথমিক দলে থাকা ২৫ জন এবং আশরাফুলসহ আরো তিনজনকে প্রিমিয়ার লিগের প্রথম পর্বে খেলতে না দেওয়ার পরামর্শ দিয়েছেন। ওই সময়ে তাঁদের একাডেমীর অধীনে নিবিড় অনুশীলন ও ইনজুরি পরিচর্যায় ব্যস্ত রাখতে বলেছেন বলেও জানা গেছে।

বিপিএলে শেষ বেলায় এসে পাকিস্তান ক্রিকেট বোর্ড 'না' করে দিয়েছিল। এবার ঢাকা প্রিমিয়ার ডিভিশন ক্রিকেট লীগে কি খেলতে আসতে পারবেন পাকিস্তানি ক্রিকেটাররা? বিসিবির আজকের মিটিংয়ে এ প্রশ্নটিরই উত্তর খোঁজা হবে। বিসিবির একটি অংশ চাচ্ছে, বিপিএলে কথা না রাখায় ডিপিএলেও উপেক্ষা করা হোক পাকিস্তানিদের। ১৫ থেকে ১৭ মার্চের মধ্যে ঢাকার ১২টি ক্লাবকে নিয়ে শুরু হওয়া লীগে পাকিস্তানি ক্রিকেটাররা আসতে পারবেন কি-না তা জানিয়ে দেওয়া হবে। সে সঙ্গে জানিয়ে দেওয়া হবে, পুলের কোটায় কতজন ক্রিকেটারকে নিতে পারবে ক্লাবগুলো। এখন পর্যন্ত ঠিক আছে, জাতীয় পুল থেকে তিনজন করে ক্রিকেটার নিতে পারবে প্রতিটি ক্লাব। তবে পেসাররা বরাবরের মতোই এবারও পুলের বাইরে থাকার দাবি তুলেছেন। কেননা পুল থেকে কেবল ব্যাটসম্যানদেরই নিয়ে থাকে ক্লাবগুলো। সে কারণে অনেক সময় দল মিলে না পেসারদের। তবে এবার সুপার লীগের আগে পর্যন্ত জাতীয় দলের ক্রিকেটারদের পাচ্ছে না কোনো ক্লাব। মার্চের পুরোটা সময় শ্রীলংকা সফরে থাকার পর এপ্রিলে মুশফিকরা থাকবেন জিম্বাবুয়েতে। সেখান থেকে ফিরে মে মাসে সুপার লীগের ম্যাচ খেলার সুযোগ পেতে পারেন সাকিব-তামিমরা। সেই হিসাবে ৭ থেকে ৮ মার্চের মধ্যে দলবদলে জাতীয় দলের বাইরে থাকা ক্রিকেটারদের মূল্য বাড়তে পারে।

Not starting anytime soon. Clubs dont want to play without the star players.
