Then they should hide him and let him play at #11 behind Abul. There will be no chance of any collapse. He is a usefull fielder and a bowler you know.

|
No, JaRule's position with SN in the squad was as a backup. Selectors were going with TI-AH-SN as the top 3. They were wrong then with making Anamul open, and its wrong now to make Anamul open. His natural position is #3...check NCL, BCL, DPL, U19 scorecards...he's always at 3. He batted out of position in WI series and still averaged 39 with a big ton. Imagine if he actually played at his natural position. Even Ashraful should open ahead of him.
But JaRule is an opener. I think he was an opener when he had that big domestic season 3 years ago.

based on where Anamul plays there is only one opening at #2 or #3 for the injury of SN. And as selectros selected Ash as SN's replacement he should fill up that hole. if he cannot do that, then the conclusion is he was a bad subsitute (of SN) by the selectors.
|
Our selectors don't pick players based on strict position usually. First they picked Marshall as he was the next best batsman (some would say more worthy than Mominul who was the orig selection). Then they picked Ash, favoring him over Mehrab and Junaid.

Why changing now to accomodate Ashraful? That's why the acusation of selfishness and "lack of team chemistry" comes when we try to accomodate him without thinking the confort level of other players...
|
Thats probably the natural and best order. I still don't know how Riyad will do at the top of the order, and he's done very well at the lower order. Let me get a guess at the possible lineup, starting with bowlers first.
11 Rubel
10 Shahadat/Abul
9 Sunny
8 Gazi
7 Riyad
6 Mushfiq
5 Nasir
4 Marshall/Ashraful
3 Anamul
2 Jaharul
1 Tamim
See Ash might not even make the cut, and when Shakib and Naeem come back, he will definitely not make the cut. Ato hoi choi korar kee dorkar?

they should open with tamim and jahurul, anamul is at #3, i don't think it deserves much debate tbh, i guess you could say tamim and anamul were starting to build a good opening partnership but that can be countered by #3 being anamul's best spot, the fact that he is the best #3 BD have atm and that the #3 spot has been an issue for a very long time. nasir probably at #4 (best batsman with shakib gone) otherwise marshall or mominul (#4 is mominul's best spot and marshall should be comfortable there to), riyad at #5 (he needs to step up with shakib gone, let's see if he's got what it takes), mushy at #6. #7 will probably be marshall or mominul. though nasir or riyad could bat at #7, they have been doing well down the order. it depends on whether you're comfortable with marshall or mominul batting at #4 or not, if you are then nasir and riyad can still bat in the lower order, if not then you have to push them up.

I see Ash being the replacement if SN cant make the trip. Could I ask why? Shouldn't Raqibul be ahead of him? He did score higher in the NCL, BCL and the final match. Just cant understand why Ash would make it

Reading it a 2nd time here, SN could still be fit in time for the Test series. So there might not be a need to replace him. And if he needs to be replaced, even though the Daily Star article said it was Ash, but Akram Khan did not say anything about Ashraful being the likely replacement. So lets wait a bit and see what happens.

Cant wait to see the TEST, this time I am watching.
Just worried about the pacers, they probably will ruin everything....
why cant we play without pacers for once? I mean is there any law you have to play at least 2 pacers? Our pacers will get murdered in Lanka! I would rather see 8 batsmen and 3 spinners.

Feel bad for Shohag Gazi with Shakib ruled out. Mushy will bowl the poor lad to death.

I think team management will play 2 spinners since Shakib is not available

Ash can join the team as a bowling all rounder, since shakib is out we need a variety of bowlers to get wickets.

If Ashraful is an all rounder then Farhad Reza must be Sir G. Sobers

Ash AGAIN? Oh ****. I would've given even Shamsur or Mehrab a shot. Anyways hope they don't play him even if the team fails.
Tamim
Anamul
Riyad
Ayub
Mushfiqur+
Jahirul
Nasir
Mominul
Gazi
Sunny
Rubel
But I'm sure they'd even go with 3 pacers as usual and get pwned
