source:

Sounds perfectly reasonable, doesn't collaborate the rumor that has been intentioanlly being spreaded here to glorify another player.

SN actually did something very similar in the past. Once he canceled tour to Australia with BD team at the very last moment giving excuse of "exam preparation" . But when BD team reached Australia, we have seen his picture in the newspaper signing for ICL.

It is same SN who again didn't go to SL at the last moment, as a fan we can suspect a player looking at his past history. Also this time his injury is not that serious and he refused to go himself.

Time will tell whether we are right or wrong and lets wait to see if he signs up for any local club.

The physio's schedule would have meant Nafees being ready to bat on March 7, the day before the first Test, but it is clear the Bangladesh management are unwilling to travel to Sri Lanka with a player unlikely for the practice match before the Test. Already, Tamim Iqbal's wrist injury means he could be rested for the three-day game in Matara to have him fully fit for the Test.
source: cricinfo

That also makes sense as Tamim is already injured and SN is not automatic choice in the final 11 and he will miss warmup.

All they have to do is to not play SN in the first Test, and if required take him to Srilanka for the 2nd.

Yes time will tell. I would rather wait ands accuse him later (if it is clear by that time) rather than accuse him and hopping that I am right.

I don't see how a player like SN's caliber, who is fighting for his postion which may be his last chance, can waste a chance intentionally. Playing in national team usually bring fame and more money in different ways in future. It doesn't make sense even if his gaol is to make money (which is ok for any human being), if he establsih himself as a star in the national team, it opens up more opportunity for him for future to milk it.

Akram's logic that Tamim is not fully fit, so it was ok for SN not to be so either -sounds ridiculous. Since Tamim is not fully fit, it's imperative that we have three other fully fit top order batsmen in the team ready to take charge in absence of Tamim.

Again, my respect for SN for making the right choice. Unfortunately, selectors made another ridiculous choice for his replacement.

Keep in mind that Akram or Nannu has not played any Test match, they probably don't have a clear sense what kind of fitness you need for Test cricket. I thought Shahriar drove that point well saying this is not club cricket, he should not be expected to do well in a Test match with one or two days preparation.

But our coach didn't.

Anyway i don't get the logic behined you have to do it your self to understand something!!!

SN is a cici PERIOD. he should not be close to bd team PERIOD

^^ I stand corrected about Akram's Test record. Though he has never played a substantially long Test innings, he has participated in 8 Tests,

I still think SN did the right thing by opting out.

SN never said he favors dpl more than intl or something like that, nor it is proved he cut his hand intentionally, this is all done by media itself. And we all know how media works...
this thread would have not been so active without them..

Hope SN is fit now. We'll definitely need him against his favourite opponents since Tamim is injured.

all kinds of sharp things should be prohibited within a 5 KM range of SN until the zim series ends.

i hope he makes the team first ..... unless the prohibition can be cancelled

So it looks like SN will be playing the 1st Test. He's going to have to make it count. Lets see whether Jahurul or SN does better.

It is obvious now SN will play as an opener in the first test, now that Tamim is out. Hope he take this opportunity with both arms like the way Ash did.

all the best to SN, he was amazing in BPL, although this is test & in Zim & SN is coming back from a break, so a WUp match would have been helpful for him.

Why not try to be behind him and wish him well rather than putting him down? You should be supporting SN the way you support Imrul.

lol. Shahriar Nafeeser mone onek Jedh ache. This is what seperates him from other ICL people. This is one of the reasons why he is still even be it by a whisker, is in good contention for a slot in the national team. This guy has a lot of thirst for runs....
