I dont care if its a seamer friendly wicket. Our pacers will gift the opposition runs in any given situation. I reckon its time to see some fresh faces in the pace department. Robiul should be a guaranteed starter as a pacer imo.

It would also be interesting to see if we opt for three pacers and fall into the "pitch" trap again. Regardless, these pacers won't be as good as the wicket. Like the saying goes now, the ball is in Mushy's and Jurgenson's court.
i reckon even with pacer friendly pitch conditions the spinners will do better. think about it like this, the pacers by career average like 70+, strike rates in the 90s or even above 100. do the spinners, even the back-up ones do that badly? nowhere near so i'd say even in pace friendly conditions the spinners would probably do better.

but yeah, shahadat, shouldn't be in contention at all, only options should be robiul, sajidul and honestly i'd really like to see how sajidul goes and i wouldn't drop robiul after last series. i know it was just one match but it was in conditions not suited to the bowlers and he managed to average 23.50, strike rate 39, 4 wickets in 1 match. rubel managed 30.50, strike rate of 60, 1 wicket, i match. shahadat? he averaged 128, strike rate 180, 1 wicket, 1 match. abul averaged 86, strike rate 128, 3 wickets, 2 matches. shahadat was the worst of the bunch and yet he has 8 years experience.

i think they should play both robiul and sajidul, if they take a 3rd pacer it has to be rubel.

Jahurul Islam
Tamim (S Nafees if he can't play)
M Ashraful
Shakib
Mushfiq
Mahmudullah
Nasir
S Gazi
Enamul Haque
Sajidul
Robiul

we need to go in with 2 spinners, gives us the best chance to win the match. No Shahadat (obviously) and no Rubel in current form. Both Robiul and Sajidul has first class credibility, so they can at least be expected not to dish up freebies on the first day morning.

I am not expecting Shakib to bowl. Enamul and Sohag should be ready to bowl long spells. Expect strong concentration from the new Ashraful. if he can't, Naeem Islam is there to take his place. Theres also S Nafees if he can manage to stitch together a few performances.

Middle order is settled. However, please do NOT play 3 bowlers and 8 batsman, on count of Shakib. Shakib should not be overused. Other bowlers should earn their keep. This line up should be our strongest spin line up.

I wonder why Nasir does not bowl anymore. Has he stopped bowling? I haven't hung around in banglacricket in a while, hence do not know the inside stories..

It is good to let Shakib off captaincy, it will relieve some pressure. He will be offered captaincy again in a few years when he will be more than ready, Bangladesh will voyage into a new horizon then

nasir apparently has a shoulder injury. i agree with not over using shakib, besides the batting is becoming a lot stronger and more consistent now so we should start addressing our other weaknesses which is the bowling department. a good bowling team only needs 4 quality bowlers, BD isn't a good bowling unit. with shakib being front line quality i think it's a great opportunity for BD to go in with 4 specialist bowlers giving basically 5 quality bowlers. that way we get an additional quality bowler and we don't over use anyone. shakib should still be a big part of the bowling but an extra bowler would be good for BD, you can't expect part timers like riyad to pick up the slack every match, that's the job of the front line bowlers.

I realy like the idea of this batting order after shakib news..i realy wouldnt play 3 so called "phast bowlers" even if it is a seaming track because we know what will happen..SN is no auto pick, Aumi should get this series to show if he belongs in this arena. Enam and Sajidul are musts.

it doesn't matter what I pick as the team because the actual selection will be different. I am guessing we will have Rubel, Shahadat Robiul and Gazi as our bowling attack since that is the worst possible combination
