rightly said...........i go with u...........not enough first class exposure in the back.........
if he plays and does well...........its very good.......but think of the other side of the coin which is like for a an inexperienced player that.......if he plays and fails then we may loose a highly talented batsman...........hope he is not required for this tour and gain valuable exposure and smell the hardness of test cricket.

Why are they playing him at #3?!!!?!!!! we should try S. Nafees as an opener with Nafees Iqbal.

Most openers are able to handle #3 position and vice versa. Butcher in England used to be an opener and Langer used to be a #3 bat.

yeah all the speculation on shahriar nafees here is based on reading reports on him. i haven't seen any u-19 games so have no clue how he plays. he sounds like another over-hyped talent, and bangladesh, fortunately for the selectors, is littered with them. as for getting into the test squad, the only way he gets in is if javed omar fails miserably in the first test. I don't see him taking a middle order spot away from rajin or aftab. His best entry into the team would be to open the one day team with nafis iqbal - JO won't play the ODIs and we have been experimenting with openers there for far too long.

Even Pieterson is not assured of a test place after scoring all those runs in SA, we have all this hoopla over this kid just cos he is left handed and did well on a U-19 squad? What do we think test cricket is?
