No he is not. Just came back from a injury that kept him away for more than a yr. But he has been picked for bcb XI to play Zimbabwe and SA in the warm up games.

If one of our fast bowlers gets injured, he could still make the squad if he can put in some good performances in the warm ups.

Somebody leaked a lot of runs it seems. Coz Taskin only went for 24 in his 4 overs, he must have played like a tiger, knowing him he probably did. Success of our T20 campaign depends largely on whether he is playing on the 16th or not! So good to see him coming back to the field!

I was looking for it myself also. Ekattor TV sports news mentioned Nasir and Riyad was amongthose 5. The match was played on outer field of Fatullah.

Seems like a fairy tale for me. I first saw this guy in an U-19 match against England where he took 3 wickets but what excited me most was a bouncer he bowled which flew over the keeper's head. I had never seen anything like it in a Bangladeshi bowler, what also was very exciting and apparent was the excellent action he had and the height he possessed. Everything put together he was the pace sensation we all had been waiting for. And then came BPL where he earned the respect of Dilshan, scared Coventry and uprooted stumps, beat batsmen at will and kept attacking stumps ball after ball. I realized his talents but also feared an early introduction and was the first one to say too that he needs to be introduced in the right time. It might be a bit too early for him still, but if this is not the right time then what is. We will hopefully witness the emergence of one of the greats in this world cup and I have hoped, prayed and fought him for such a long time that it comes as a relief and most joyous occasion of following Bangladeshi Cricket for a long time.

Welcome Taskin Ahmed to the Bangladeshi team. Hope you take us to new heights, and I know you will!

Wow this kid better live up to the unbelievable hype! Don't think Brett Lee or Shoaib Akhtar were spoken off in this manner even after they had showed early promise in the international scene!

Brett Lee or Shoaib Akhtar would be too much for now. I will be happy if he can serve like Mashrafe.

Too much hype. Let's hope he delivers. A lot was said about guys like Rubel Hossain and Dollar Mahmud too before their debuts. Let's hope he doesn't go that way.

well whether he is the next big thing or not the reason people are so excited about him is because he has the aggression of a fst bowler that Rubel,Shophi or Nazmul or Al Amin don't have.
After wathcing some video clips it's clear that Taskin is an ambitious player, who wants to dominate the batsman, he is not a jodi laigga jay type of bowler, he targets the stumps, bowls yorkers etc.
Hope he does well, we desperately need one good pacer.

Those who haven't seem his bowling can take a look at the following video. He is aggressive and likes to dominate.

Every time we hype up a player this much we know what happens...Hopefully it will be different this time.
