Yeah I don't understand the second one. Isn't that pitched outside leg?

That's pitched outside leg, that's not out. Already seen many decisions like that given not out. Even half the ball pitched outside leg means not out.
Ganguli doesn't agree with this rule though. He said a few matches before " half the ball is enough to hit the stumps" . This rule has to be changed.

From ICC rule book -
3.9. Interpretation of Laws
a) When using technology to determine where the ball pitched (as per Law 36.1(b)), the third umpire
should refer to the “point” (or centre) of the ball. Therefore if at least 50% of the ball pitches outside
the line of leg stump, then no LBW dismissal is possible.

On the catch I see the catches are all accepted till the rope/hoardings move. I saw one in this WC -
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-03-0...y-rope/6288612

See an extreme example.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/conte...ry/250345.html

The ICC has clarified that the benefit of doubt will be granted to the fielder in cases of inconclusive evidence over contact with the boundary rope while completing a catch or effecting a run-out. The clarification follows controversy surrounding Mahendra Singh Dhoni's dismissal on the fourth day of the Antigua Test recently.

According to the protocol, if the on-field umpires are uncertain, they can refer the decision to the third umpire, whose sole responsibility is to decide whether the boundary was scored. However, if the replays are inconclusive, the benefit of the doubt will be given to the fielder, which means that no boundary will be awarded due to lack of evidence. As no boundary has been scored, the only decision left would be for the on-field umpire to give the batsman out caught.

The action was necessitated after Daren Ganga claimed Dhoni's catch at the edge of the mid-wicket boundary but the batsman stood his ground, as there was doubt whether the fielder was touching the boundary rope while taking the catch. However, the TV replays were inconclusive, leading to utter confusion among the players and on-field umpires. Ultimately, Dhoni walked off after Brian Lara told him to take the fielder's word that the dismissal was effected legitimately.

MysoreHuli is right, that rope/banner/placard didn't move to suggest that his foot touched it. The fielder gets the benefit of the doubt. Yes, you can wail about umpiring not giving it a thorough look, but the fact is Shami set Riyad up for that. The ball has extra zip and carry off the pitch, and Riyad's hook shot was not fluent - he checked his shot after he launched into it, instead of going on a full follow-through. On a big ground like MCG, those shots without fluency *will* get you out. Same with Shabbir's dismissal, Shami set him up for that. And the rest of our top order FAILED! They did not care to perform!

Great bowling from Shami, Yadav and Ashwin. India bowled with aggression when it mattered, and they fielded with gusto and athleticism.

In your dreams pal. That boundaries are so flimsy even slight touch will give a distinct movement. He was atleast an inch inside. 100% out.

wow some fans are in denial like they have always been for 15 years. You got your *** kicked by 100 plus runs yet come out with excuses. How about Keyes not given out. Only two questionable decisions in the match was the noball one . India was already in commanding position. Second one was Imrul Keyes. Everything else is your figment of imagination .
