Should get Ireland involved in this tourney. They'd be better than Zimbabwe.

What annoys me is that Zim had a tour only a couple months back and were terrible. Without Taylor they'll be even worse, give someone else a turn FFS. I mean reason would there be for Zim over us?

Financial? No since both nations are small
Competitive? Both teams pretty identical
Ranking? No since we're actually further behind than Zim

We could well suck on turners like Zim but at least give us a go ffs, stuff like this makes me honestly believe boards are pressured by the ICC to starve Associates of anything

I understand your frustration.

I think BCB and ZC has a good understanding and relationhsip because we play so much.

That's why the Ire board has to be more proactive. They need to build more close relationships with lower ranked sides like Zim, BD, WI. Let the Ire board president come to subcontinent and visit all the boards. Maybe that way they will be included in the conversation and get a tour in future.

Ire has the ability on field. Now they need to be more smart diplomatically.

One of the reason we got test status and exposure early on is because we had a capable board with effective diplomacy then.

Shamsur finding some form. Good steady knock. He has a lot to give only 26 years old. Lots left. who ever discards a player who is 26, must be only a poor cricket fan in terms of cricketing knowledge.

Replace Zimbabwe with Ireland. With their main man Brandon Taylor gone, Zimbabwe squad looks the weakest they have ever been since the cricket crisis back in 04-05. Unless they can get new young cricketing talents very fast, they are looking at 3 huge defeats.

However, I don't think Ireland will come to Bangladesh any time before the WC qualifiers in 2019. BCB treats Cricket Ireland exactly like how BCCI treats us. When we reached the #8 ranking by outranking NZ in 2013 and WI in 2010, India would still have rather played the #9 team than Bangladesh.

And now we know that Ireland on paper have a stronger squad than ZIM at the moment, but we would much rather play ZIM than IRE. This is because BCB is scared of Ireland (exactly like how India is scared of losing to Bangladesh in their own home ground). If we lose a game against Ireland, all our critics like Sidhu and Boycott would come out of hiding, grill us for our test status.

With the next WC being as it is the lower ranked teams will probably create their schedule based around getting as many points as possible, that pretty much means play weak teams so they can win. Top teams won't worry because they'll gain enough points but the lower ranked teams will be thinking about points, in saying that it makes it a bit interesting because then the top associates come into play, they could get more games from this so teams can try and get easy points but it means the associates have chances of causing upsets and getting points for themselves.

Think the Pak and India series will go on to decide whether we qualify for Champions Trophy or not. And if we do make it to 8 before the end of this year, then have little doubts that we will rise further in rankings when 2017 comes. I believe this time it will be an upward trend.
