Riyad realized this pitch was heaven to bat on once he got set a bit and adjust his timing. The other morons decided to go gung-ho from the get-go cause Hamilton did it.

Tamim still can't play the straight ball is just depressing

Yep we lost. Zimbabwe batted really well and batted us out of the game. Our batting order can chase 160-170 max. This was beyond us. It will depend on Mustafizur to keep the target within our chasable limit.

Lets give the credit where it is due. Zimbabwe played well and I am not surprised with Bangladesh performance. This is the best we can do given our strength in T20. Our batting is never the strongest point in T20. Just analyze all the matches Bangladesh have played, we heavily rely on good bowling performance to win games. Even after bowling well often Batsmen threw out the matches. We actually don't have T20 type batsmen. First we don't have strong-muscled batsmen and 2nd of all we don't have any consistent batsmen.

We are lucky neither Afghanistan and Zimbabwe are in our group in the world cup. Again we can even lose to Netherland or Ireland. They have beaten us before in T20.

So my prediction, we may lose all the games in Asia cup (may win against Pakistan if they choke in batting).

In world cup if Netherland brings their full squad, we will most likely lose out to them. And if somehow we manage to pass the first round, we will lose all the games in 2nd round just like last world cup.

Tamim Soumya Shabbir Ryad Mushy Shakib Nasir. This should be our batting line up. If Shabbir and Soumya clicks in one game we have a chance to post 180. Else we need to be happy with 160 odd and hope our bowlers defend it. Our bowling will be our strength Rony/Taskin, Alamin, Mash and Mustafizur. No dudhvaat spinners needed in the squad.

This was an experimentation series and 18 players used proves that. Its a world record. Then again, Zim also experimented.

The only positive is that our pace attack has potential if they cut out a few of the crap deliveries. Haider and Taskin bowled at pace and threw down 7-8 top class yorkers between them.

Then of course there is Mustafiz.

Again..Nasir should be nowhere near this side his batting is just a depressing sight as he trys so hard to replace his former self with zero success. Fame got to him he has in my eyes become a bits and pieces cricketer and we once saw him as the next Shakib Tamim will retire sucking at T20 and at WC's. Soumya doesn't use his brain hass all the shots and timing throws it away innings after innings if he just forces himself to bat out the 20 overs he will have a SR of 130 min.

Ohh darn I made an off the cuff statement. I apologize.

Who even organize even number matches in a series?...sucks becuase now that both teams are level in the series..it would have make so much sense that a fifth and final deciding match was on the way....

Could have pulled crowds and a point to to prove.

I personally don't like even numbered matches in a series

Then again it makes sense because he never had the love for cricket. Watch the Mehedi Hasan Miraz's video again, he said that he loved the game, and doesn't know anything but cricket....and also that he wants to lead his side from the front.

Shakib is skilled no doubt, and worked hard, but he has lost his dedication these days. I would imagine that by 35 he would be regarded as one of the greats of the game, but now he will be regarded just as "Top quality player from Bangladesh, end of story". That will be it for his career.

This game has been an eye opener and should be a slap on the face for the team.

This game we had almost all our players.

Our players are playing t20 like an ODI

There is no excuse for sub standard fielding. Chorbi jomsay shob gullar.

The day we can dominate and thrash( I mean murder) Zimbabwe in our own turf in t20s is the day we can say we have made progress

Perhaps in a parallel universe we won this series. In that universe Mustafizur and Mushy were not injured and Al Amin and Tamim were not rested. We simply carried on with the momentum of the first two games to win the last two.

Both sides did experimentation and Zimbabwe ultimately found their ideal combination but we didnt. All the dudhvaat players like Hom, Kayes, Arafat didnt make any important contribution. Ryad made an important contribution but as usual to a losing cause. We need him to fire not only when there is a crisis but also when there is a game to be won. Nevertheless since there is no Maxwell waiting in the bench, Ryad will have to do at number 4.

according to a PA article published few days back, Haturi has already confirmed Arafat's place in playing XI for Asia cup and WC. He was rested in first 3 matches to make room for experimentation. But he would feature in those "main" tournaments. Then it was questioned, if he is set to play for sure, then why not get some match practice against Zim?

overall, too much experimentation happened. But the same thing also happened before 2015 WC and amateurs like Soumya was drafted in out of nowhere. He delivered and that's why no one questioned the wild choice.

When it works it looks good. If we had won the third game we would have been praising Hathuru and Mash as geniuses. But it is important also to assess what went wrong and acknolwedge mistakes. I think defeats like this helps expose the problems and we do have plenty of time to address them. If we are chasing 180 regularly i think the batsman will eventually learn to pace their innings. The rush to score boundaries and collapse of top order can be attributed to lack of experience in chasing high scores. The more we are put under this sort of pressure the better we will get.

^it is hard to accept the losses. Zim came on an away tour after losing the series with AFG. While all our players came straight from week long BPL + played at home. Still we could not even compete in the last 2 matches. Frankly, it was just dominating win by Zims.

A hack like Mohammed Shehzad scored century against the Zim just few weeks ago. Yet, none of our players, coming fresh from BPL, could not do anything noteworthy. If I am not wrong, HS was just 50 odd by Sabbir. Disappointing to say the least.

it was an experimental series.... so not worried about the result. What I am worried about is the performance of the backups. Cant even compete with Zimbabwe. We better hope that Tamim, Shakib, Riyad, Mushy, Mash, Mustafiz, get injured because it looks like there is no substitute. But the bowling has been very poor in this series. Mash, Shak, Riyad, Arafat failed to perform while the new guns, Abu Hidar, Taskin, Mukhtar, Shahid has been plain disappointing. Mustafiz was the only bowler this series

This is exactly why I am happy with the results it is better for Bangladesh that these things happen now rather than happening at the world cup
